Please don't listen to people saying you have to start somewhere, start where? Can they please answer that question. For me, I think if you have a career set goal for marketing, then do it. If not, define your career goals, and if you feel you want a particular line of work, then go for it. If you are not happy with the job you have, don't make it a habit of having to go, because when you are in, it may be difficult to leave. Understand the business environment and find out if you can talk to the HR and see if they can fit you in your career set goal. Those asking you to start somewhere, please ask them, where? Like they know where you are going, mschew...

Shake my head. Organisations are looking for people who will add value to them and not those who are cost centres. Graduates these days just want to sit down and earn salaries without working. What is wrong with marketing?

Please stay at home. It is a useless job. I knw sol dey contract dere workers to banks as DSA or marketers. U are paid 40k or so. No career growth, u will be looked down upon by full staff of the bank. No bonuses etc. I'm a banker and I pity those on contract. I silently weep for dem. Pls have patience. U have a 2.1 frm a private uni. Why stresss ur self and kill ur esteem with a useless job dats not worth it. Add me on BBM let's talk. They are seconded to Diamond Bank, Access Bank and Sterling Bank, salary and working conditions are far below standard. While Diamond Bank pays 28k with commission, Sterling Bank pays 40k with commission.
Since you don't have any working experience, I'd advise you take the offer and as soon as you start marketing, seek out other openings. Be ready for lots of trekking and high level of discrimination in the bank you're posted to, as SOL doesn't give a hoot about how you're treated by their clients.
Salary is steady but highly inconsistent. You could be paid on the 27th,28th, 30th, or even on the 2nd of the next month.

OP, don't worry, soon the 'association of private university owners' will set up a parallel LABOUR MARKET for all products of private universities. I don't know how many times people have posted on this forum that "how much you pay as school fees does not determine how much you will earn after graduation"

If your folks can give you 150K as monthly allowance, why accept 50K (40K in most cases) from any employer as a marketer?

Just to let you know, the employers care less where u got your degree, all they are looking for are the right skills,competence and possibly experience.
