Mynd44:

Alaba might have a babaloja but not one who is actively involved in the day to day running. Just comes around meets the leaders and is not even known.

The babaloja will probably be a titled chief in the area and his duty will be to report the activities and needs to the traditional ruler there.

The market themselves have a union which disciplines, in charge of sanitary issues etc.

Most markets in this part of the world have one but they might be active or not active. Active here means whether they are seen or not
That is very true, but for baba oloja,I seriously doubt if they have at Alaba.

They will have a representative at the traditional council. That person is the babaloja.

He will not be involved in the daily affairs though. Just get updates and all.

Goon, did u read this part?

He said the warring factions were of Igbo extraction and could not understand why they could not resolve their areas of disagreement amicably without resorting to violence.

The crisis is between the traders under the umbrella of Ladipo Central Executive Committee, LACEC, led by Comrade Kinsley Ogunor and cemetery workers led by Monday Lawrence has engrossed the market for more than one week.

Does it make sense to u?

The one needed in Ladipo is a very brutal baba Oloja capable of curtailing the excesses of these trouble makers. This one must be seen and feared unless he will be trampled upon. An "Adedibu" like babaoloja is best suited for Ladipo.
This is pointless

I just hope there can be another palliative to stop the crises. So that this will not be seen as a vendetta or vengeance of the aftermath of the election(PDP only won in areas igbos are majority)

A way of proving that lagos is a not a 'no mans land' as even people like Femi falana wrote epistle on recently.

The last time it was shut sown, they had to pay 70m naira, and also its a place they make their livelihood.you don't cut the eyes off because it looks at women lustfully and get you aroused.

I like ur post, but the koko be say Lagos is a no mans land. Once ur state becomes the nations capital, its all over.

If that be so the traders can always take their market elsewhere...Problem solved.

Lol. Be practical. How many of them would dare to relocate?

Fortunately, the two parties are comprised of Igbos. If they cannot find a peaceful resolution, the government will shut down the market and collect a huge fine before lifting the ban. The innocent traders among them will just suffer for what they didn't do.
