With barely 38 days to handover, out-going President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday approved the sacking of Suleiman Abba
as the nation's Inspector General.
The sack of Abba which was announced the Special Adviser to President Jonathan on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati,
is with immediate effect.
Abati's announcement of the sack of the former IGP through his Twitter handle however did not give reason for the sudden
development that is seen as a deft move by Jonathan after the general elections.
Abati said Abba has been directed to handover to Deputy Inspector-General of Police Solomon Arase, in Acting capacity.
He further said; "President Jonathan sacks IGP Suleiman Abba, appoints DIG Solomon Arase as Acting IGP with immediate
effect,” Abati tweeted.
Per Second News gathered that Abba's sack might not be unconnected with alleged doubtful loyalty during and even after the
general electionsm
Abba according to dependable sources close to the presidency was believed to have been taking orders from General
Abdulrahman Danbazau, who is the Director of Security to the General Muhammadu Buhari's presidential campaign
Organisation.
"Abba was called by Danbazau to take care of specific areas that would have been of advantage to the PDP during the
elections and specifically directed his men to act according," the source said.
He was also instrumental to the brief detention of a serving minister on his way to the United Kingdom last week. The minister
was quizzed for a couple of hours on his intentions and trip abroad. Investigations by Per Second News also shows that
another female serving minister suffered the same fate two weeks ago on her way to the United Kingdom.
DIG Arase, who was the Head of the Police Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department, holds Bachelors and
Masters Degrees in Law, as well as Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Political Science and Strategic Studies and he is a
fellow of the Nigerian Defence College.

Good riddance. So Abba is now an Apc apologist when Gej lost the elections. But when Abba unconstitutionally ordered the withdrawal of Tambawal's security details he was not supporting Apc. Thesame Abba made honourable member's of the national assembly. Mainly those of the then opposition Apc to scale fences in a bid to perform their constitutional responsibilities.
Abba is not a progressive and can never be one of us.
