@chuman33 You're giving great advice, reading through everything I didn't know polish visa was going to be tough like this. I have paid my tuition but I haven't started the visa process and I am very worried & I have a question I'd like you ask you or anyone here that can help.

1. If your documents are legalized by the ministry of education and foreign affairs, do they still need to be legalized by the embassy?
Thanks. I'm glad to be of help. If you are going for Bachelor Program then only your WAEC Certificate needs to be Legalized at the Polish Embassy. Every other documents MOE and MFA can take care of it. Which school did you apply to? What do you intend to do now that the school commences by 1st October and you still haven't gotten Visa?

my visa application got denied gave reason as justification of intention... would have preferred to re apply but can't get another date, only option now is to appeal so I'd like to know if I'm to submit the same documents as the visa application or just documemts to counter the visa refusal

I don't know if the possibility of your brother getting a Visa to commence studies by October is possible. But if he does. Let me know I will be able get him a room in a private hostel in Warsaw. Best of luck to him.

That's beautiful. Please connect with each other. I'll pm you now. Thanks

Was he able to Legalize at MFA ?

At MFA we were able to legalise his credentials but not his eligibility letter even though we were told we could just come with it like that to the embassy since the refusal to legalise it in the MFA is a general one and they are aware of it.

How we gon do about the fact that the visa application is late? I am waiting for the school to acknowledge reciept of the fees then ask them to write a letter to the embassy, send to their email, copy me stating that they will be waiting for my bro to arrive. I will have to beg them to do that although as it is not part of their job and they stated it somewhere on their website that they do not attend to other requirements for visa application purposes. I think all documents, the right documents and this letter will aid the chances of visa success. Also my mum and dad also if granted visa will accompany him as he is just 15 now.

Be clear enough, justification of intention? Take a picture of your rejection letter or better still quote the full sentence

The Embassy is not in demand for your Eligibility Letter. That's for the Polish Universities. Once it's issued from the MOE there shouldn't be a real need for the Legalization at MFA. Hope that helps.

I believe his age will play positively in his favour. Although I don't know if it's of real need for your parents to accompany him. The unfortunate situation is the unavailability of dates before the commencement of academic year which can be problematic in the visa decision

Well, I'll advice those that haven't applied for visa yet to come here for study....please don't bother applying for a Polish Visa. You'll be denied. It's way too late in addition to their automatic denial.

If you have gotten an admission in any Polish University, apply for a Schenghen Visa from another embassy. Your chances of getting a Polish Visa be it Tourist or National is very low.

We don't know why the are refusing Nigerians as of now..But All Nigerians that managed to get here are either coming from another country.

So apply for Tourist Visa if you have a sponsor.

P.S: If you have a virgin passport..and Poland has denied you Visa, I'd suggest that you make a new passport.

This is not always the case. But I recommend it

Thank you very much, I don’t have my original WAEC result so what I do?
I am a transferring student so my school said I can start in February, so do you think if I apply on like November I can get a visa? guess that is my only choice but I cannot afford to get rejected. My school name is Lazar

You have to discuss with your school about the situation. Since you already got admitted, discuss with them, they should be able to give you an extension till the end of first academic year to provide your original WAEC Certificate. Get official letter from your school stating that your resumption date is on February that should help. Try applying maybe around December. You meant your school is Lazarski University in Warsaw? I will advise you to learn some basic Polish language online and use it when you go for your Visa submission, eg Dzien dobry Pani/Pana, Jak sie masz? Should help get you a friendlier face. Goodluck

I pray it does bro. Thanks for the insight. I saw someone posted about alternatively getting a shengen visa from another country's embassy then going to Poland from that country and then applying for residence permit and all. How feasible and legitimate is that? I'll consider that as a backup plan if someone can confirm the legitimacy of the move. I'll ring the embassy of Poland tomorrow to enquire how my brother's visa appointment would be affected by the following below :
1.at the initial we were hoping that it was the medical University of gdansk that was going to offer his admission so we quick booked for his appointment indicating that he was going to gdansk but it was medical University of Warsaw that eventually offered him the admission and it was just recently.
2.there was no much time or appointment dates on the website so we decided he will use the initially booked date (27th Sept) to submit the application for medical University of Warsaw instead of gdansk. We although filled out another form using the filled in form hoping that he would explain things to them during the interview.
3. Because he is a minor, my dad has written a letter of consent and sponsorship and both dad and mum had applied for shngene visa too appointment on the same date so hopefully they'll all be interviewed at the same time since they'll stand in for him and would like to escort him to Warsaw. (theres too had hotel bookings in gdansk instead of Warsaw)

If any of you guys Pls has something to say or contribute to my bros chances please share with me. If we are missing something or aren't doing something correctly please advice. Thanks

It doesn't matter which school gave him admission, Poland isn't like USA where you need to pay for Servis fee, etc based on the school that admitted you. Secondly I still don't see the need for your parents to escort him to Poland because he is not the first minor to travel to Poland on the basis of study, and they all travelled alone. As regards to the Schengen Visa, this I cannot confirm because to apply for a student visa you need to come in with the right Visa which should be type D or a Resident Permit from another EU Country. You can call the Urzad Wojewodzki of the city you r bro is coming to and confirm if coming with a Schengen visa can allow him apply for a study resident permit. I believe the university can confirm this as well.

Hi, please which school did you get accepted from?
When did you go for the submission at the embassy?
What was the reason given for the denial?

Hi peeps, I have been given admission to study in Katowice school of economics, katowice. The confirmation letter dated 6/09/2018 was sent to me by mail but the hardcopy is on its way to Nigeria. This program is tuition free as it will be funded by the European Social Fund for 3years.

I have been able to book appointment date for 6/11/2018. Though the school has been written to write the embassy for my late resumption as we know that 01/10/2018 is the resumption date of Unis in Poland.

All my hope is on God for this visa approval.

I want to confirm what kind of passport should be ticked for the visa application as I have already ticked service passport- though I ought to have inquire before filling but I just want to confirm.

Congratulations on your admission. You did the right thing by requesting your University contact the Embassy. Try to get the written Letter reassuring you of starting your studies at a later date, and also let your University Cc you in the email to the Embassy, print both of them and submit alongside the rest of your application. As for your Passport, you should have selected Ordinary Passport as Service Passport are for high level government services. Not quite sure on this, but surely Ordinary Passport is what is issued to non governmental service citizens. Unless I mistake what you meant. Finally the rate of Polish Visa denial rate is very discouraging, but if you are not paying tuition fees, then you have absolutely nothing to loose in trying.

You welcomed. Katowice isn't a bad city. I believe there's possiblity of getting a student job as they have production/manufacturing companies. Are you going for for Bsc or Master's? Have you gotten visa appointment? What are the list of docs you submitting? Have to know more to see what to advise.

I'm going for Bsc in International Business and Tourism in management field. I'm submitting my NECO certificate, Secondary school leaving certificate, National Diploma and Statement of results. I have already booked appointment for 6/11/2018. I have my birthday certificate legalized by MFA but not NPC birth attestation; though am planning to get NPC birth attestation and legalize it at MFA before I go for the visa interview. The university will assist in booking accommodation and it was stated in the letter of acceptance soft copy sent to me (260 euro returnable deposit for accommodation before end of September). Am yet to get travel health insurance and itinerary.

I hope the rate of racism in katowice is not that much.

I believe you will be needing the birth certificate from NPC as the hospital one mostly isn't viable. I don't think you will have problem in Katowice, just don't keep past midnight in the weekends. Once they get drunk, it's typical of a Polish guy to look for fight, and they mostly fight in group against one. The Visa denial rate is quite discouraging, but let that not affect your resolve. I will do make inquiries before the time of your Visa interview to know if there's anything to boost your chances. Try to learn some basic Polish, get a letter of promised employment after graduation, property management/inheritance, character support letter from your Parish priest/church. If you are Muslim it might count against you, Polish people have undiluted hatred towards Muslims, mostly coz of what's happening in Europe. Hope you understand
