A lot of people are guilty of number 17. "Quiet" is an adjective, but, people often mispell it as Q-U-I-T-E, an adverb.

Quite and Quiet are two different words and they are correct in their own way.

For Instance;
1) It was QUITE a journey or it's been quite an age.
2) Everyone should be QUIET

I have an issue with this as part of the list

When I say, "It was Very Cold and 'Quite' in the Woods"

is "Quite" there a Misspelling or not?
Re: 30 Most Misspelt Words; Which One Are You Guilty Of ? by 2goodbobo(m): 11:48am On May 14, 2015
For further clarification, the ones on the right hand side are the correct spelling.

Loose - LOSE!

not necessarily true! they are different words with different meanings. Just that people confuse one for the other, and not necessarily misspell it.

Loose = to untie, or set free. not firmly fixed. could also mean not strictly organized or controlled

Lose = unable to find something. opposite of gain. defeat

Let's Say Lose and Loose.

E.g How can you "Loose" Something you never had?

Now "Loose", there is not even a Misrepresentation of Words, but A Misspelling of the Word "Lose"

Same thing with "Quite and "Quiet"

Even though both Words are Grammatically Correct and In the Dictionary, but when you use it in the Wrong Concept, it is considered a Misspelling.

concieve - conceive

decieve - deceive

recieve - receive

This 'ie' and 'ei' uses can be confusing. the rule is: 'i' comes before 'e', except when preceded by a 'c'

Many people use there instead of their. This is a big problem.

Again This instead of These.

Then people think the way verbs are pluralised is the same for nouns. No no!

Eg...Other students think...and not thinks!
