hello guys, this poem is just a selection from my poetry book, i will so much appreciate more posts of something like this, Bring it out !!! let there be peace let the silent doves of the sky sour above the planet earth, just like the heavenly birds of the sacred sky. let the stream flow in tranquil to meet its line and blow around the peaceful breeze of bliss and life. let the trees blow around the diamond morning dew, to quench the thirst of soul and that of inquiring mind let the golden night glow down and up the streets cooling every admiring sight let the gate of heaven remain open wide so the earth can feel its peaceful tide let our weapons of wear be buried deep beneath the earth so that not even a flash comes back to our mind let the city smile with their hearts let love and merriment twinkle like beautiful stars of the African night[/pre] let there be peace criticisms are welcome |

the storm when the angry air called a meeting all the rubbish and wast of the north, west, east, and south met at a point in the space holding along with it hot red sparkling gold sand dust swerving dangerously to and fro the four cardinal points if all the gods and goddesses of the earth could lose their anger in some seconds they could not their the angry rolling wind neither the roar from a thousand hungry lion cos it travels fast and wide with a loosed hell of rage yes i saw it travel it traveled far down there and vanished in the middle of no where. |

I loved the second and third You also seems to be more intimate with poems with its theme on Africa, very patriotic of you, and the poem on god and goddesses, really got me hyped, thinking how I would love to try my hands on that too, all in all keep it up |

Cold Cold Heart Come away with me in the night Come away with me And I will write you a song Come away with me on a bus Come away where they cant tempt us With their lies I want to walk with you On a cloudy day In fields where the yellow grass grows Knee-high So wont you try to come Come away with me and we'll kiss On a mountaintop Come away with me And I'll never stop loving you And I want to wake up with the rain Falling on a tin roof While I'm safe there in your arms So all I ask is for you To come away with me in the night Come away with me |

PLAY OF MY LIFE Prologue My life stinks! Nay, it is not good looking itself Yet it gives me an ocean in the eyes ‘Tis a search through past vastly that reveals Intransigence in mouth breath and sound Act 1 scene 1 She sat close to the banking rivers ‘Tis true she had been sealed But that glowing attraction stood in between * * * * * * * * * * * * * I lured her into dirty black By killing her husband So together we would dwell Act 1 scene 2 That day involved judges And men in corporate black Twenty-five years was my sentence And on the stand, she received a judge Nay, it is not true What did she have to do? I gave her freedom from her man Kiss the ground oh my soul; ‘Tis true I done been used copyright: irabor jeffrey (jey_d_poet) |

The failure Alas! I’ve failed again Not worthy to grace the rain In my private life I’m surrounded by Damocles’ knife Yeah, I do see bright lights But then after this tight sight, It should be time to fall over again And then say I’ve failed again Considering all aspects of life Especially when taking a big dive, It crumbles to the start then We say we’ve failed when Our lives crumbles, our fame fades And we lose our aces and jades Hearing that sound of game over down the lane, We say we’ve failed again Hi failures and fellas, I send this to your faxes and tellers Whenever you climb a ladder and fall, Carefully lean that ladder on the wall Find another ladder And see joy fill your bladder And now, you’ll say “we haven’t failed have we?” But know that this was brought from yours faithfully. |

i appreciate the poems of everyone in this thread area, abdul, jey and everyone who spin their words in fine thread so here is mine 365 dayz come and gone 365 days I walked in the rain with my eyes in a tearful haze 365 days I lived with the pain ‘cos I thought they’d be better dayz 365 days I felt empty and lost in a hopeless maze 365 days I fell with no supporting base 365 days I felt trapped swimming unrestraint in space 365 days I reminisced the fun we had before the parting dayz But on the 366th days I threw the gloom right out the room Freed myself from the invisible rope that tied me in doom Made myself prosper like a rose in the sunlight bloom And found myself a replacive charming groom Its like life to win and lose And my tears had paid the dues Let the dead let the living be For the two world housing the beings Must never have a link So the balance would forever click Goodbye my lover for I have to leave You are beyond pains gone to the world of the dead, but I live and I must forge ahead am heart broken |

nice one @ princesa and jeythunder here is another one- BEAUTIFUL BIRDS OF NIGHT beautiful birds of night who's wrong thee today that makes thee look so sad like a dethroned king it's make your sweet mellifluous voice sound coarse and your wings so heavy as if controlled by a pulley why have you cease singing of your journey long i mean the song you sang for the flowers in the moon that one that you use to sing that makes your wing fly high and the ones you sang to call the mountain close why the sudden change into a dirge sad beautiful birds of this princely sky covered and crowned with clusters of stars i pray you don't care so much about life for its, full of rosy flowers embroidered with thorns i hope the cool breeze of the sky ease your troubled mind i wish you a nice day in the happy sky which you now sadly fly |

PIRACY Piracy has gone round To everywhere things are found Taking a good look at me Will say I can’t be two or three So why is there A miming me who is rare And sometimes hard to see Though, he doesn’t have a complexion as me He pirates every move I make So fast even without a break A dark mischievous creature That sometimes walks in my favour He plays dirty tricks on me at night At a point, I began liking him right He follows me even to the meadow So, I named him my shadow. |

wrote this years back in my undergrad days in ife. Even as a child i dreamt of this day the day when boys wld grow up to be man and girls women, a day when the sound of war wld be heard no more, i dreamt of freedom freedom from slavery, freedom from oppression as i child i walked about wit hate in ma heart where did this heart come from, i know not wat brought about this hate, injustice i must say injustice to the human race, injustuce to humanity can this hate be changed, i say NO for not from ma mother's womb did it come from for its was the world that gave it to me and to the world would it return, but then wat wld the generations to come say would they not say their freedom was redeem by bloodshed LET them say so, for does not life lie in the blood to give a man life is it not by blood and to end one is it not by blood, then why do u all look as if sin i did commit for even as a child i have seen lives of men been take away i have seen child ma age been thrown into slavery some been thrown overboard ships for their bones were weak and movement caused them pain, noone to help them but the sailors hands that swings them overboard. even as i child i dreamt of this day, a day when the cry of freedom shall be heard across the land written by $oulchild |

He resides in Oxford He wanted to travel far He was into big time fraud This was a day before now He landed at west Osborn He saw a man in a Mexican hat His games were newly born He stole money, and shot at the heart He had killed one of himself; a terrible thing he had done Another was to kill him; a curse following generation. |
