I witnessed something similar way back in my year one in 1999.
Crowd were gathered at the admission office trying to sort out one thing or the other, people were shoving and stuffs.
Suddenly dude felt a hand shove him from behind and immediately felt weak under, touched the spot and felt something like a thumb only. He turned around to quickly sight the guy struggling to exit the crowd.
