This has become a necessity because of the deplorable state of dangote integrated steel osogbo (formerly osogbo steel rolling company) and her members of staff.
You already know the history of the company and the huge economic challenges it is battling owing to the deplorable state of the Nigerian steel sector and economy. We also know that you are a very generous and kind hearted soul. And that you do not know most of the things that happen here, and that's why we have to use this medium to call your attention fully to our side.

The welfare state of your members of staff in Osogbo is nothing to write home about. We understand that we are not yet producing and adding to your fortune. But we are dieing both morally and physically because the state we are now in. Imagine men with families and dependents taking 15,000 to 20,000 naira as salary in this present day Nigeria and how their lives look like. And it has been like that since December,2005 you acquired this company with no increments, no confirmations and no promotions. Yet the prices of fuel, food, accommodation, school fees and other necessities continue to rise everyday. Now your Osogbo staff are the biggest chronic debtors to the group co-operative unit and other money lending outfits in Osogbo. We are living in shame and poverty.

The popular answer to our questions is that we are not producing but it is not our fault. The group knows the quality of staff you have here that why the Dangote Academy training school is currently located here pending when the new one in Obajana will take off. The Academy trainers do not have access to standard training materials any longer and yet they strive to churn out good quality employees for the group even on empty stomach. The little money paid to them to take care of the stress of preparing and rendering lectures had been stopped since last year and when they asked, they were told that that the company pays their salary (peanuts). They are currently living with a situation whereby the trainees receive bigger pay and attention than the trainers even when some of the trainees still do not get to become your employees. Is it supposed to be like that?

Most of us were trained in Germany by the FG and are champions in our fields. We proved that when we were taken to your cement plants in Obajana and Ibese to help stabilise production pending the commissioning of new production lines and continue to prove that on our day to day activities here in DISC. So if we are not productive in Osogbo, we can help out the group by being productive in other productive sister companies. We plead you to look into it because redundancy is not a good thing at all and it is not our making.

Also, we are currently working in very unsafe conditions. Things like no safety PPEs, abundance of dangerous animals(scorpions,snakes etc) and some bad management decisions. As at the day of this write-up (8/06/15), we are yet to be paid our May salary and when we complained to the management, we were told to endure that after all Osun state civil service have not been paid for eight months now. There are months that we do not receive salary until 20th to 27th of the following month. The question now is, are we working for the state government or the most benevolent richest blackman on earth?

There are so many things to tell you, sir. And we will continue to strive to get your attention on those matters (the deplorable state of the world class equipment on ground, welfare, bad management decisions etc).

Please Sir, we are working for you and not for the ogas and indians. Kindly come to our aid, we do not know what else to do.

OSRC was privatised by the FG since 2005, the same thing with Jos and Katsina steel rolling mills.

Dangote we all know is a serious business man and will do a very thorough job.

The complex has a 42.5MW power plant of its own and is connected by railway. The place has the ability to boom when a good management with a powerful technical background is put in place.
Dangote is known to do a thorough job and that's why we are calling his personal attention to the company. He just needs to set up a billet making plant so that the place can produce its own billet and may be upgrade the power plant to his own standard. The mill is quite ready ever since. In short, when the complex was shut down by the FG, it was in a very good shape. There is an on going extension of the mill but the billet making shop should have been given precedence above others.

It feels as if he does not know that he has a company like that, a big sleeping elephant waiting to wake up from its slumber. Remember he acquired the complex since 2005.

The staff status there now is nothing to write home about compared to other Dangote projects. As an example, other Dangote projects periodically have their staff welfare reviews but DISC staff do not benefit from those reviews. Sometimes, we use to doubt if the company actually belongs to Dangote.

OP,itz best you resign & look for something else doing...Truly 20k cannot cover for the sum total of lagosian's transport fair,let alone making use of same money to run a family.
