New Deji Of Akure: I‘ll Not Condone Thuggery, Violence In Akureland by bugs1: 6:07am On Jun 10, 2015
The new Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, yesterday received the staff of office with a stern warning that he would not condone thuggery, disrespect for law and order or any other act of violence in the city.

The monarch gave the warning in his address after receiving the staff of office from the Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, who was represented by his deputy, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo.

At the ceremony held at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office, he declared his determination to promote peace, respect for constituted authority and the traditional institution of the emerging millennium city.

He promised that the Deji traditional institution would be used as an important agent of meaningful development.

Aladetoyinbo promised to encourage participatory traditional governance within the kingdom and other arious component towns.

The monarch appreciated Mimiko for his spirit of justice, equity and fairness in the process of selecting a new Deji.

Speaking at the occasion, Mimiko said the presentation of staff of office to the Deji marked the beginning of a new era in the kingdom.
