The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) has said
that more than 500 people had died as a result of
cholera outbreak in Nigeria in the last five months.


Mr Olusoji Adeniyi, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer,
UNICEF, disclosed this at a two-day workshop for
ethical and humanitarian stories reporting for
journalists in Kano.


Adeniyi said that mortality rate for the outbreak of the
scourge calls for prompt action and the need for the
provision of good accessible water.


“The mortality for cholera in 2015 is over 500 in
Nigeria and there are so many deaths still occurring.
