"until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned" there will be no unity or peace.

Basically, you're saying that we will always be in disunity and unrest.
Re: Why Igbos And Ijaws Must Unite by okunoba(m): 6:07pm On Feb 01, 2010
@ChinenyeN, I said until we stop feeling superior or better than each other there will be no peace/unity, that does not equate to never,
It just means this condition as to be met 4 peace and unity to prevail.

"Everyone is calling out 4 peace, but non is calling out 4 justice"
Re: Why Igbos And Ijaws Must Unite by ChinenyeN(m): 6:08pm On Feb 01, 2010
But we all know that that'll never happen. We know that that condition will never be met.
Re: Why Igbos And Ijaws Must Unite by okunoba(m): 8:22pm On Feb 01, 2010
I am high on hope, nothing stays the same 4 ever.

Who started this thread?Well change is the only permanent thing in this world.Phase one seem to have passed in this Abagworo's suggestion which Ohaneze heeded to but in a wrong manner.Let's hope that the mingling of this sociocultural group in politics actually achieves the most permanent aspect which is social unity.

The unity process was begun last year by Ohanaeze and that has resulted in the election of GEJ as Nigeria's president.

@ezeuche.I will always work for interest of my people but I will not partake in lies and deceit. You have in the process of trying to be Igbotic deviated from truth and turned into the same thing you should be fighting against.

Maybe it's just me, but Abagworo has remained relatively the same, for as long as I've seen him posting here on NL. Granted, he's become more and more vocal about his non-involvement in the tug-of-war games that some engage in, but apart from that, there's no real change, but like I said, maybe it's just me. .

Having knowledge of the Igbo people will not make him an Igbo. From his name to his utterances, I don't need a soothsayer to tell me he is not an Igbo.
Kobojunkie claimed Igbo, Alh. Harem claimed Igbo too.

hmm. . I guess the sentiment also extends to the sons as well, and not just the daughters. I've always wondered myself why that was the case, but whatever.

You're not giving this one up, I see. Well, setting the date, depends. . . are you talking white wedding or trad. marriage? Who are you people by the way? Where in Imo state are you from, again?

lets just say im from a small LGA in Northern Imo state right in the middle between Orlu and Owerri. traditional marriage of course!  kiss

about the Ngwa lady. his father didn't say "NO! you cannot marry her" but he did try to discourage him and talk him out of it. they met in Lagos, btw. just that the people in the community kinda feel stand off-ish towards her.
