Hi, I'm a graduate of medicine and surgery, so I guess I'm a doctor... Lol.
Well I want to start preparing for primaries, heard the next one will be sometime in october, but I need study partners, motivation, guidance, advice and materials cos I'm guessing it might be a different ball game altogether...
So, anyone interested, ranging from 5th year medical students to doctors at any level, (even my chiefs that have written it before, I really need advice and guidance), should please indicate interest. If we are many we can turn it into a group. Cheers.

my thoughts exactly. Make up your mind and register next year. Most especially this exam is not MB, in this one you are on your own. Have you considered ophthalmology or anesthesiology?

My mind is on internal medicine. I'm just saying things might change, you never can tell, but for now its internal medicine.
I want to write it this year, now wey my head still dey hot small.
And yea, I've considered those areas and I'm not interested.

Wow.... Interesting! I still plan on writing the usmle but I'm keeping my options open for now. Please how is the primaries for internal medicine? Is still same medical school medicine or something different. I mean can I pass it by reading the usual medicine textbooks?

Internal medicine is cool..
For National primary exam, use their update materials along side their past questions. For West Africa exam, update, Kumar and Clark with MRCP part 1 revision handbook.

It is safe though to keep your options open but the quality of training here in Nigeria is on a deep diving

very funny advice. i wish i could leave i swear but marriage is keeping me in naija. already aced my usmles but now i have to figure out a way to get into residency in nigeria cos the hubby has relocated here. please any1 with info about getting into pediatrics residency in port harcourt, abuja or lagos in that order should halla @ me abeg. a sister is getting desperate. i have paeds primaries (april 2015). the only tip i can give is devour as many past questions as you can find. i went thru 2012 update once but it wasn't as helpful as past questions. i thought the exam was kind of easy sha, i guess status post-usmle helped. was already in exam mode.
