This is not another thread for showcase of bragging rights, hell, as a beginner developer, I don't think I have acquired enough skills to claim for bragging rights. cool

So enough of the chit-chat, My PC got robbed when armed cultists raided my room while in school, carted away with my old but precious HP 635 (yes, it was old, but damn too precious), so practicalizing my software development skills seemed hopeless embarassed

So a challenge/competiton came up, for a spot as an Intern, organised by the Stutern team - http://www.stutern.com/ to develop a photo sharing site, something like http://unsplash.com

No PC, Php Skills - beginner level, but I needed an Internship for the SIWES, then an idea hit me, The mobile is becoming powerful, why don't I utilize that, so I zoomed off to the Android Playstore with my Samsung Galaxy SII, found a couple of apps (I'ld list them below, for those interested)then I began dev'ing.

Completed the project under 3 days, (That's too much time for a pro/veteran in the game) cool running on Php/Mysql, and using the Bootstrap framework for front-end (I'm not much of a Designer).

So the Final Product is http://photohub.uhostfull.com

Not fully completed, but quite a work has been done.

Last Bullet: Don't waste time waiting, there are resources around you, if Software Development is something you want to do, pick up your knapsack, dust your khaki and begin the journey.

Well done. I hate typing on mobile even though I type very fast and I use wordflow (comes with every WP 8.1 device.) Sometimes, I need to post a large text body with my phone, I type first on pc and then transfer to my phone. No time.

I wished you'd post more screenshots tho. I'd love to see what the code likes like.

Btw, ate there moderators on this section? The spam posts above should be removed.

Most people actually forget that their smartphones are miniaturised computers. Android OS is built on top of Linux and given the right apps, you can do almost anything you can on a desktop.
Apart from web development, there are a host of programming mobile apps and compilers out there. AIDE (Java/Android), Qpython (Python), Terminal IDE (Command Line), C4droid (C/C++) to mention a few.
However due to the small screen estate (processing power and memory is less of a problem these days) of mobile devices, you can only use these apps for training and writing small projects.
There is no excuse for you not to be a programmer now.

Well I guessed you read it as such, maybe a mistake on my literal construction. But in essence, all I was trying to portray was how powerful and quick working on a mobile could be should you not have a desktop.

Besides you shouldn't generalize out of hasty assumptions, Nigerians and bragging? How many Nigerians have you been with that's considering the fact that you're not Nigerian!!
