Maybe they are firing and hiring or the downsizing is just for a particular segment.

They forgot companies hire and downsize at any particular time. Even my coy downsized some months back and also called for CVs that same month.

Many companies do that even commercial banks do that especially if you are in units like Treasury, Corporate Banking, E-banking, Risk Mgt, international trades, Audit , IT etc.

My company sends. But with dwindling oil revenue and exchange rate hike, dem don slow down with abroad trainings. My set was the last to go for cross cultural training last year october. After dat, na one of our revamped trainin school for port harcourt every dey go.

E no make sense at all. The loss of estacode too. Chaiii.

They're really downsizing at their corporate headquarter here in Abuja. The two houses used to be filled up, but now you hardly see people there. I had my internship there in 2012, and majority of the people I knew there have been sacked.

Maybe the people undergoing training at your place are onshore workers right?
Especially their Human Resources and IST department. I was told they only pick a competent hand to handle major section and then lay majority off. Not sure.

Some staffs already got their termination letter to begin from 1st of August.

Some contract staffs are waiting for their contract to terminate and then it will not be renewed.

It's a sad one. The only people it favoured are those who resigned before the whole crisis.
