Why Is Native Attire Not Acceptable To Corporate Nigeria? by BigBen10: 8:53am On Jul 27, 2015
Good morning nairalanders
Please join ponder over this. why is our traditional native attir not accepted as corporate dressing in our corporate world here in Nigeria. I think it should be acceptable to wear some specific traditional wear as formal dressing. My argument is this. Everytime you see our leaders and polticians wear traditional wear to events and their work place. From the President to local government chairman. take the recent trips of Mr. President. He wore his traditional dress though with suiting respectable colours (black, dark blue, grey) and he was taken seriously and listened to. so why has corporate Nigeria not accepted our traditional wears. Instead its relegated to the background as Friday casual wear. The Americas and Europe wear suits because its their culture and suit their weather. why can't we elevate ours to that level?
If government at all levels were to make compulsory wearing of native attire from Monday to Thursday and Friday for English clothes don't they think it will tremew boost our textile industry? It will create huge demand.
why must we follow follow oyibo?
