CHAPTER 10

The best and most beautiful memories are spent together with friends and family alike. True bondship is actualized not when someone spend lavishly on you, but when they stay with you especially when you need them the most. People come into our lives and leave a footprint in our hearts, while others come and make you wanna leave a footprint on their faces. Despite the situation, remaining committed till the end, is the best way to weather the storm.

About thirty minutes later after Femi and Tracey had left, the generator power was suddenly disrupted causing a total blackout, eventhough there was enough fuel in the tank to last them extra hours. Bishop explained that they all exclaimed bitterly in displeasure, even saying that he was about to cum into Suzan's pusssy before the power went off, and then he made a hissing sound.

"You dey mad! Na toto go kill you for wetin you just talk.." Skipo who had been eavesdropping on their conversation insulted his cousin brother stylishly, and the trio bursted into an uncontroled laughter. Calm was soon restored and then Bishop continued with his narration.

The robbers cladded in black and black outfit, had masks covering their faces, whith torned holes in the eyes where they could see their potential victims. The men from the underworld stormed the lodge in commando style knowing people were inside the room having fun, but oblivious to them that these people were actually having a good fvcking time of their lives. The thieves had their plan well structured, one of them was positioned at the extreme junction observing any movement that lurks about, another stood close to the generator set, his plan was to switch it off while the remaining two who were the real mastermind were expected to barge into the room and cart away with valuables, most especially phones and gadgets. Exactly as planned, the second guy switched off the generator, after a while, Skipo stood up to go inspect what could have marred the electricity, then he noticed that two guys were walking beside the window, approaching towards the room, he suspected something fishy and then opted to shut the door quickly from inside, but before he could do so, the two criminals were swift as they attempted pushing the door open, though, they could only succeed half-way due to the pressure mounted by Skipo. It became crystal clear that these guys came to rob them, Skipo raised an alarm by shouting above his voice, which made everyone in the room to be at alert. Suzan and Kemi also joined in the wailing which later metamorphosed into shedding of tears. Bishop joined Skipo in pushing the door forward to prevent them from gaining access into the room, but their efforts was hindered shortly. As the struggle escalated, one of the robbers thrusted a sharp matchete through the edge of the door, and also threatened to kill should they refuse to let go of the door, that seemed to have performed magic as the door was immediately freed.

The robbers forced their way inside and pointed torchlight on their faces blurring their vision. The two criminals both held cutlass on their hands. Bishop and Skipo resigned to fate as they postrated on the ground, hoping for the worst to happen. Suzan and Kemi were shaking vigorously on the floor, the both of them were half naked.

"Gimme all your phones!" One of the robbers barked. Kemi was the first to launch a search looking for her phone, she soon realized that she kept it inside her big handbag. She struggled to open the bag as she could barely pay attention. The robbers ended up not only collecting her phone but also a little purse which she kept inside the handbag. Suzan also stood up to give them her phone which she was charging before the incident, whilst she managed to cover her unclothness by draggng the blanket along to shade her pusssy.

Nonetheless, one of the robbers made a silly mistake by giving his cutlass to his 'partner in crime' to have in possession, while he made to unplug the remaining phones on the floor which belonged to Bishop and Skipo. As though that wasn't enough, he also attempted to flee away with the laptop. Then, Skipo made a more sillier mistake as he went after him trying to form macho man, it wasn't suprising, though, cos the dangana razz mentality was imbedded in his DNA. The kept draggng the laptop while others watched helplessly in fear. It wasn't long before his partner sent a cutlass approaching towards Skipo's head, he ducked and got hit on his shoulder, a mighty punch was also sent to his face and then he lost control falling to the ground like a bag of rice.

The successful robbers dashed out of room into the dark and left everyone shocked in collosal awe.

Bishop ran outside searching for help, and one of his neighbours who initially didn't step out during the strife, came with a first-aid treatment and administered it to Skipo.

After normalcy had returned, the four of them slept with one-eyed open, hoping seriously that the 'fine boys' would not come back again to exterminate them.

At about 5am, the following morning, Suzan woke up and also woke her friend Kemi telling her that it was best they leave there that moment. It wasn't entirely day-break, so, Bishop tried convincing them to wait a little longer, but then, he got the shocker of his life. Suzan started shouting at him, calling him all sorts of name and even accused him of inviting the criminals to come rob them of their phones. The ignorant lady probably forgot that somebody got injured in the scuffle. They left soon enough, but not after she warned Bishop never to come close to her again.

Bishop shook his head pitily after he was done narrating their ordeal. Femi was suprised to hear all that had happen, knowing fully well that he would have been amongst the victims if he didn't left the party. That was when he narrated what transpired between him and Tracey, and also chipped in the part where she stole his ROLEX wrist-watch. Bishop, however, blamed Femi for not locking the door which gave the thieves an upper-hand, Femi accepted the blame and also blamed him for afflicting himself with - not only street urchins, but desperate and under-age girls with little or no manners. In the end, they all lost something, but he was glad, that his generator survived.

They waited a little longer, and when they were about leaving, they had to meet a nurse who assured them that Skipo would get well as soon as possible, and also tasked them to come along with his school admission letter, that way, the treatment would be free of charge. They promised to do exactly as told, and made to leave the clinic through the exit route, but not after Bishop stopped to collect free condoms from an office. He was that crazy, the deed had been done, but the ministry must move on......

CHAPTER 11

THREE DAYS AFTER

They say time flies in the speed of light, often than not, seconds turned into minutes and minutes transformed into days. Bishop and Femi had constantly been visiting Skipo on his sick bed in the last couple of days, and this particular day wasn't any different from the others. They had brought along a flask of food containing rice and stew garnished with rose beef. For the record, Rose is a kind of cow meat. After much had been said and done, Skipo ate the food with a gleeful heart, his health had tremediously improved. The drips attached to his body had been removed, and the nurse affirmed that he would be discharged soon, provided that he continues to take the drugs prescribed to him.

Unfortunately, he may not be allowed to leave the clinic without payment should his school admission letter not be made available as proof that he is a legit student of the varsity. Although, Bishop had previously gone in search of the admission letter but he couldn't locate it. Skipo then gave a better description of where he kept it in his hostel room, therefore, they set off to check again.

Both Femi and Bishop departed shortly, heading towards Dangana hostel which is just few metres away. The environment was quite a scene as students were seen playing volley ball, while others were playing football with a medium-sized goalpost on an open space. They walked closer and a heavy stench of smell was emanating from the gutters, causing an odouriferous saga. Femi who rarely visit the hostel covered his nose with his palms before suffocating to death, but he was quickly reprimanded.

"Your papa! Your mama!" A bouncer-like dude shouted from the top of the hostel. Femi soon realized that he was the one being referred to, so, he quickly retracted his hands. Bishop warned him never to make such mistake again, unless he wanted angry Dangana soldiers to transfer their aggression on him. The caveat emptor was indeed necessary because as the saying goes; to be forewarned is to be forearmed.

At the entrance of the hostel was a thriving business centre, right there one could practically market anything, ranging from stolen phones to laptops, generators et all.

"I wan sell my phone oo!" A guy wearing only boxers came from nowhere and started shouting. He kept on repeating those words in an igbotic intonation, his bold marketing strategy seemed to have attracted on lookers who wanted to see the phone.

"See the phone! Na Bold 5, very clean and neat, anybody wey give me 12k right now I go just dash am the phone" The guy bragged while giving the phone to one of the on lookers and probably a potential buyer to examine. The supposed buyer scrutinized the phone for a while, and then passed it to another person, who also passed it to another person. The phone kept changing hands all within a circle and before one could say "JACK BAUER" the phone was nowhere to be found with nobody to suspect, how it happened, nobody knew. Everyone there was stunned when they realized that the phone was missing, knowing well that the phone couldn't have developed legs and disappear.

The owner of the phone felt the spurred to cry but he had to hold back the tears, though his eyes were blood red signifying anger, but there was absolutely nothing he could do. All along, Bishop and Femi were observing the drama as it unfolded. They couldn't help but laugh at the doom of the phone owner who became calm all of a sudden, after people started making jest of him.

They left there afterwards and when they got to Skipo's hostel room, they met a group of hungry guys having a Rap Battle. It was obvious that they were famished because their cooking pots were all empty, one of the occupants was actually sleeping helplessly on his hostel bunk like someone who had less than 24hrs to live. Bishop was baffled by the statement made by one of the Rapper-wannabe, insisting that they go to the studio to record the cRAP they were dishing out as RAP.

Anyways, Bishop exchaned greetings with them and went ahead to search for the admission letter which literally brought them there. Femi stood at the door observing the room and thanked his stars that his parents didn't force him to stay in the hostel, he was wondering how he would survive in that kind of environment. Bishop later found the admission inside Skipo's file which he kept in a drawer beside his bunk, the file contained his school information details from 100level till date.

They left almost immediately and headed back outside. Again, at the entrance, a guy was writing a notice on a carbon paper pasted on a wall which reads "Clean Tecno P5 for sale." Immediately Bishop saw the notice, he realized that he doesn't have a phone anymore. He walked closer to the guy and enquired how much he wanted to sell the phone. After series of bargaining, the guy agreed to sell the phone at 5k without memory card. Bishop instantly fell in love with the phone and desperate to buy it....

Although, he didn't have enough cash on him, but he had in his bank account which he could easily withdraw from First Bank ATM, which is situated inside the school. Bishop asked to see the phone but the guy said that he left it charging in his hostel room, that he should follow him there. Bishop probably thought the worst couldn't happen, so he made a gesture with his face asking Femi if they should follow him, Femi then gave an affirmative reply and they began walking behind the guy, heading to his hostel room. Only if they knew that they were walking into another trouble....

CHAPTER 12

It is often said that trouble comes like a thief in the night, it doesn't give a pre-warning to its prey. Hence, in every situation, while praying for the best, still hope for the worst.

Finally, they got to the room and all stepped inside. The interior was quite a beauty to behold compared to the first room which they entered, the occupants had actually renovated the room by removing the bunks and re-painted the walls against the original white colour. A red-coloured rug carpet was placed on the floor and they had four different mattrass positioned at several strategic areas inside the spacious room. They also had a music sound-system for their listening pleasure and an 'OX' standing fan for ventilating the atmosphere. For a moment, it seemed as though they were not in Dangana hostel.

Bishop and Femi met three other guys inside the room, and then, they were not sure who owned the phone anymore. The first guy who took them there requested the phone from the second guy, while the second guy requested the phone from the third guy, who later brought out the from a small bag, it wasn't even on charger as the first guy claimed.

The phone was handed to Bishop who began to examine it, the P5 was quite rough on the surface but still in good condition. Bishop switched-on the phone and discovered that it had a lock pattern, he then passed the phone to the first guy who later tried different patterns' but none seemed to work. After several failed attempts, one of his colleagues started speaking Yagba to him, which is a sub-division of the Yoruba dialet spoken by people from the western part of Kogi state. The guy literally said that they would take the phone to Xamarano ICT who's a popular phone engineer in the school to have it flashed, in order to remove the lock pattern. Bishop, a native of Mopa-Amuro L.G.A understood Yagba a little, so he grasped what they were saying. On the other hand, Femi was also a Yagba-boy but he only understood Yoruba, with his reasons being that he didn't grow up in his hometown.

Bishop suspected foul play from the way they were acting, they probably stole the phone and tried to cover their tactics by acting innocent. He immediately lost interest in buying the phone, but before he could mutter a word, the first guy who brought them there suggested they take the phone to Xamarano ICT, claiming that his cousin brother sent him the phone, and that he had forgotten the pattern drawn to him. Bishop knew that he was lying, but decided to play along.

Femi quickly jumped in saying there was no need going to Xamarano, stating that he knows how to format Tecno android phones using hard reset. The so-called owners of the phone didn't protest, instead, they gave him the benefits of doubts and allowed him to perform magic. Femi collected the phone, removed the sim and memory card, and then inserted the battery back into the phone. He punched the volume button together with the power button at the same time, and after some seconds, some write-up appeared on the screen. He proceeded to click some of the icons, whilst they concentrated on him with rapt attention. He was the Houdini of the moment, and just like magic, the phone began to format. Everything was going smoothly as the Tecno logo was displayed on the screen.

Trouble started when the logo lasted longer than expected, it was taking too long and Femi feared the phone had become bricked. He then removed the battery and inserted it back which he wasn't supposed to do, but the situation remained the same. He kept removing the battery a couple more times but his efforts were rendered frutile.

The tension became high and Femi began to panic inwardly knowing the consequences of what he had done. Bishop was constantly asking him how far? But his reply couldn't yield any positive result. One of the guys started speaking in yoruba saying that the phone had become damaged, and should they not pay for the phone, he won't hesitate to mobilize Dangana soldier to beat nonsense outta them. On hearing that, Femi quietly gulped a huge chunk of spittle down his throat, his humanitarian deed had put him into trouble, or so he thought. The guy later asked if he understood yoruba, Femi replied in the positive, and the guy responded with, Ok! Albeit, with a sinister tone. Femi who had been standing suddenly sat on a chair. Indeed, he was in a hot seat.

Bishop was a bit pissed about the guy the guys were exaggerating the issue, but decided to keep his cool. He was probably the only one who believed the phone hadn't become crashed. About then, another write-up was displayed on the screen which meant that the phone had successfully been formatted.

Femi jumped up in euphoria, he couldn't hide his joy. The guys were put to shame as they started congratulating him. He demanded that they give him the money they were supposed to pay Xamarano, should they have taken the phone there, but trust dangana boyz, that statement could only pass for super story...

Bishop was very upset and he refused not to hide his feelings. He told the first guy that he wasn't going to buy the phone anymore, despite the fact that it had been unlocked, but the guy wasn't bothered anyway.

They both made it outside the hostel, and while Bishop went back to the clinic to submit the admission letter to the nurse, Femi mounted a bike to his apartment where he met a surprise awaiting him.....

In life, there are certain circumstances that one must encounter. This most important thing is the ability to overcome your hurdles.

Femi had finally gotten home after a very stressful day which seemed to be the worst day in his entire life. Earlier, it was the drama with Tracey, and later the scuffle with vast of Dangana soldiers. He hoped inwardly that his day won't become any worse, or so he thought.

As soon as he stepped into his lodge, freedom quarters, he discovered that his neighbour and friend Azeez had resumed, he started hailing him from a distance, which is typical of nigerian students. Getting to where Azeez had stood, they both shook hands and exchanged pleasantries, after which Femi accompanied him inside his room.

Prior to that moment, Azeez was rocking a very long afro-hairstyle, which he did cut before resuming for reasons best known to him. That decision made him to change facially and Femi couldn't help but wondered what could have triggered him to do so. Femi further enquired what he had brought along on his way coming, Azeez reluctantly muttered "Blessings!" while pointing to a syrup kind of bottle placed on his reading table. Behold, it was a half-popped bottle of codeine. Azeez was smiling sheepishly while asking if Femi would like to share from the blessings. For the record, Codeine, just like Benylin, Solpadeine and others are cough and pain killers but its abuse could get one high. The drug makes a persons' system to be calm and tend to behave in slow-motion - as of today, the drug is illegal and can only be sold and purchased through the backyard. Nevertheless, it's a nice way to chill and get your mind of stress. Little wonder Seriki, the undisputed naija artiste a.k.a Irumole to je fried rice, sang the song "Codeine chilling" Perhaps, he was high on codeine when he went to the studio to record the freestyle.

Anyway, Femi bluntantly rejected the offer knowing the the implications if he had agreed. They got talking, and during the conversation, Femi highlighted all the obstacles he had gone through since resumption, ranging from the assault he received from the vigilante men, to the feud with Tracey, and recently the issues he had with Dangana soldiers.

Azeez who is quick to anger listened with rapt attention, and after all was said, he was very furious due to the way his nigga had been treated, wishing only if he was there, it would have been a different story entirely. Azeez was a no-nonsense fellow, he was always straight forward while dealing with people and hates oppression. His presumed lifestyle having his ear pierced and a tattood shoulder made people to see him as a rough system guy. On several occasions, he had heard several stories flying about him, but then, he doesn't give a flying fvck either. Getting really pissed off, Azeez suggested they go down town to relax with some bottles, Femi consented and off they went, but not after Femi asked him about his roommate Farook. Azeez made a hissing sound and asserted that he would resume when he so wishes. Both Azeez and Farook had issues which was yet to be resolved. It wasn't long before the both of them mounted a bike and headed to "Item 7."

Unlike every other day, the weather was particularly unique, as it wasn't too sunny neither was it wet either. Item 7, was definitely the place to be. The serene environment attracted fun seekers to chill at the reservoiur, especially workers who had retired from their various jobs for the day, students were also not left out. Azeez and Femi had taken turns to relax around a "Gulder Lager" customized table with four bottles of orijin beer, then Azeez sub-consciously brought out a stick of Oris chocolate flavoured cigarette from a packet which he had placed on the table. He also brought out a spaq, otherwise known as Lighter from his pocket to 'enlighten' the Tobacco, but to no avail, as the lighter refused working.

Azeez then headed to another table where about four guys were sitted smoking pot. He politely asked to blow his cigar from their Shisha pot, and they obligied without hesitation. After kissing the cigar at most three times, fire ignited on the edge with smoke puffing out from his mouth, he gave them a thumbs up and shook them accordingly, as he made back to the table where he was sitted. All these while, Femi had been feeding his eyes with a Barclays premier league game being shown live on a Plasma Tv, placed on a strategic location to entertain customers.

"Brodaly, you no go blau?" Azeez asked Femi rhetorically, eventhough he knew that Femi doesn't smoke.

On the other hand, Femi didn't bother to respond orally, he only made a smile gesture and that answered the question. They kept sipping the Orijin, and while Femi was almost two bottles down, Azzez was no where close to half, but signs suggested that he was drunk due to certain stunts which he was pulling. The latest was when Azeez felt it was more comfortable to quench his Cigar in his filled bottle of Orijin..

Femi couldn't help but laugh over his stupidity, stating that only a half bottle of Orijin could make him drunk, while himself was still standing, despite consuming two bottles already, and still counting. Of course, Azeez tried to dispute the claim that he was drunk, so he stood up gallantly, but saw himself dragging three steps backward, and one step forward like a kite controlled by the waves of the wind. It wasn't unusual as Azeez could smoke eight wrap of weed, and two SK without feeling the impact, but only a cup of spirit-mixed drink could get him intoxicated. It only meant that Azeez was allergic to beer.

The place was fun filled, and everyone was cool, not until a familiar figure arrived at the eatery. Femi stared keenly as she walked in majestically with someone presumed to be her boyfriend, while holding him very tight on his arms, as though another lady was about to steal him away. The sight looked hilarious but that was the least of Femi's worries, so he continued staring whilst trying to recall her identity. This behaviour, however, drew redress from Azeez who cautioned him not to stare at other people's girlfriend, especially in public places; but Femi was hell-bent on recalling her identity, as he barely listened to what Azeez had to say.

A little more brain-storming made him reminisce her as the lady whom he selflessly helped on his arrival to school, untill she denied him bluntly when they were accosted by the vigilante men......

CHAPTER 14

There is always a bad omen when right things happen in wrong places. Ironically, the world is wired in such a weird way that people don't get to choose when and how certain events are bound to elapse.

Femi had always wanted to scold this said lady when next he had the priviledge to meet her again, he was restless, as he thought of the best possible way to approach her without creating a scene. A part of his mind told him to let the issue slide, but he just couldn't let her go scott-free, atleast, without teaching her a lesson which she would never forget.

"Nigga, na the shawty wey I been tell you about dey chillax over there so.." Femi said pointing towards the lady.

"You mean say na she be the girl wey deny you?" Azeez had retorted with a 'waffi tone' while stressing the DENY. "...so wetin be your move?" He asked.

"Tor... Today na her free-day, make I just fash the babe since she dey flex with her guy." Femi said.

"And so what? If she dey flex with her guy nko?" Azeez thundered slightly raising his voice.

"....shshsh!!!" Azeez then made a squeezing sound while beckoning on her to come with a tone of finality.

The young lady and her supposed boyfriend looked back at him in suprise, and then continued having their fun. Though, it didn't stop there. Azeez kept making the mundane sound trying to get their attention. Not only did he successfully got their attention, but he also got the attention of everyone present there at the bar. Femi started begging him to die the issue but it was too late; her supposed boyfriend stood up angrily and started nagging at Azeez, and the situation was beginning to get out of control.

The confused lady still didn't know what was happening, not until she saw Femi whom she recognised immediately. She also took turns begging her boyfriend so they could leave, but neither of them would have none of it. Apparently, the two people who were supposed to be the ones quarrelling, ironically became the ones begging while their accomplies took the issue personally. The ugly scenario was a typical example of "Taking panadol for another man's headach." as most Nigerians would always say.

The fued was becomming unbecoming, Azeez had insisted that he wanted to see the girl and warned the boyfriend to back off, otherwise, he wouldn't hesitate to run him local. People had gathered to separate them, and the server who failed to put the situation under control called the manager of the bar on phone, who swiftly left a nearby function to witness the unfortunate event.

Trouble eventually sparked when the boyfriend threatened to pierce Azeez with a bottle and drag out his intestine, something he wished he never said, because that statement literally added fired to the already burning furnace. Suddenly, Azeez grabbed two empty bottles of Orijin and hit them together, which saw both bottles shattering into pieces, with the edge still in his arms.

It took the intervention of Femi and others who held him firmly before it becomes a case of attempted murder.

The boyfriend ran away while the girl who seemed to be the primary cause of the problem followed him afterwards.

It didn't take long before the manager arrived the scene with two other guys, as they alighted from a Toyota camry vehicle. They quickly apprehended Azeez and threatened to invite the police to arrest him. People there started pleading on his behalf, including Femi who narrated what had transpired in the first place which later degenerated into the fight.

Azzez sub-consciously pleaded for his release, as tear-drops slowly dripped from his eyes. It was strange to see Azeez cry, and despite the fact that he cried, there was still a look of bravery on his face.

The manager was hell-bent on calling the police, if not that Azeez proved drunk, with a stench of alcohol emanating from his breath. Finally, he was freed, but not after they were asked to pay for damages.

Azeez, together with Femi collectively paid for everything as they made out from "Item 7." after evading arrest and possible manslaughter....

CHAPTER 15

TWO WEEKS LATER

Normalcy had began to return to the university campus after days of stress and compulsory registration process. The scanty school environment had become flooded with students, majority of whom had recently resumed to participate in the registration, in accordance with prerequisite pertaining the new academic session. However, it is pertinent to note that Nigerian students prefer to stay at home for another few weeks after school had resumed. This culture is practised in virtualy every public schools both in O'level and higher level.

Femi was among the students who were yet to complete their clearance despite being in school since the beginning of resumption. On this particular day, he had gone to the school digital centre where he intended to register his courses online. Getting there, he met alot of people who arrived there before him, then he waked to the back of the hall and sat on a seat until it would get to his turn. Sitting close beside him was a very beautiful damsel. Her dark beauty was glowing like the star, she had a sleek skin coated with a cute dimple on her cheek whenever her lips curved into a radiant smile. Infact, words alone could barely describe her beauty. The georgous lady sat very calmly and relaxed whilst concentrating on her mobile phone. Femi felt the spurred to strike a convo with her but words eluded him. He then resolved to ignore her, but every moment passed, the silence kept hurting him inside. This intense feeling made him very uneasy as he couldn't take his mind away from her. Femi continued staring at her, though stylishly, and it got to a point when she noticed, as she suddenly raised her head up while they both caught a glimpse of each others' eyes before restraining their faces almost immediately.

Minutes passed and students who were done with their registration left the hall premises, while those seated at the back were shifting forward. Eventually, it got to their turn to move forward, and while the lady immediately stood up, her phone mistakenly fell from her hand and scattered into different places. Femi swiftly graph that opportunity to help her couple the phone back together while she watched helplessly in shock. Femi then switched on the phone, and fortunately, it was working perfectly. He handed back the phone to her with enough enthusiasm, and she replicated the kind gesture by thanking him immensely. Femi could now behold her complete features, and her beauty were indeed breathtaking. They soon engaged in a conversation, but not after occupying new seats.

"...so what the name?" Femi asked.

"My name is Ayo." She replied cheerfully.

"Woah! Nice name you got there. I'm Femi." He said.

"Hmmm... I'm poised to know what a student in the faculty of medicine could be doing here, all by herself." He chipped in, playfully taking advantage of the fact that medicine students are rarely seen in the campus area, as the school authority had provided them an isolated hostel, with restricted movement.

"Excuse me!" I'm not a medicine student, but a 200 level student in the department of sociology, and I was recently admitted through direct-entry." She asserted. Coincidentally, the both of them were course-mate, and since she was a fresher, Femi grew fond of her immediately.

The conversation became more interesting as they discussed about school-life, family, personal interest, individual prospect and even politics. Their rapport was spontaneous and eccentric, as though they had known each other for ages. They seem to share alot in common.

"Where do you stay?" Femi asked, thinking she wasn't going to tell him, as most girls would do when asked for the first time.

"I'm staying at Royal's garden lodge."

Femi recognised the lodge instantly, which is very popular along 'stadium road.

"I suppose you're staying with your sibling or relative, since you're a new student." He said.

"Not really! I'm currently squatting with a mutual friend, whom I knew through an ex-course mate of mine from federal polytechnic offa, in kwara state where I finished from" Ayo said.

"Technically speaking, your're staying with a stranger. Innit?!" Femi said jokingly and they both chuckled in unison.

The course registration process was progressing rapidly, and Ayo was the next-in-line to be accredicted. Then, she stood up and walked towards the computer operator. After completing the process, she left the hall, but not after Femi had exchanged phone number with her.

At about 11:00pm that same day, Femi was fast asleep when his phone started ringing. He reluctantly stood up grumbling and wondered who could be calling him at that odd hour of the day. Amid fallen-eyes, he finally got hold of the phone and discovered that the caller was Ayo.

Every iota of sleep suddenly eluded him, as he shrugged his eyes in riveria. She was the least expected person he had thought would beep his phone at that profane hour.....

Talk about the power of a woman!!!....
