Activities in Makurdi the Benue State capital is on a stand still as angry youths of the Katungu area have blocked the streets and roads leading to the two bridges that connects the Northern and Southern parts of Nigeria.

It is a common norm that in every society there are Laws that govern its people but still there are those who keep breaking these laws, that's why in every society there are those who are selected to keep and enforce these laws. But that is not the case with what happened here in Makurdi.

Without much waste of time I will go straight to the point. The barracks is the home for most or all military personnel. Yesterday 14 August 2015 a soldier boy left the barracks in the evening by 8:30p.m and had a crackdown with some bad boys that led to his death. In reaction some soldier boys stormed the North Bank/Katungu area wrecking harvock on everything they came across, every street they passed through had a feel of their anger as they made sure that no vehicle was left untouched.

By this morning (Saturday 15th August, 2015) all activities in the North Bank market area are on a stand still as every businessman and woman did not open out of fear of the unknown. Motorist and the general travelers can’t access the two bridges connecting the both ends of the River Benue.

My question thus is this, are they Civil Right Groups in Nigeria that can readily take up such issues and make sure that such dastardly act are not meted on the general populace because of some irate youths and to make sure that all the damages are paid for by the military and lastly to make sure that the military men involved should face the full wrath of the Law.
