Hahaha naija no easy, years back I had a similar experience with government allocated land I bought in Abuja, after paying all government fee including ground rent back loge through AGIS. After a few years I went back to start developing. Suddenly the locals already take position and started farming on the land. On approaching them at the beginning I wanted to use enforcement and I realized it could be bloody. I was advised to drop the idea and work with them, they took me to their local chief. I couldn't believe they had procedures for that and while trying to negotiate with them they claimed the government took their land without compensating them. Cutting the story short in the process of negotiating they told me I had to pay 2k per every root of what their farmers planted there. When putting the numbers together it was about 70% of cost of the land. I just had to walk away and leave the land, back to base in largos. One thing that is clear is, they can't sale it's because is well documented in AGIS.

These happenings are not just right. I would blame the Government for that!

Your are correct sir there are so many ways to go about it the best way (depends on what you are shipping) is to pay for a space in one of those guys that ship containers regularly (especially those guys that ship used tires)

The only way to get it cheap is to buy it cheap overseas and then ship it in through the cheapest possible means.

I have done this several times, but this also means that you will not deal directly with customs.

it also means there will be some delays in clearing.

The one time that I tried to ship directly, item was in Nigeria in 3 days then customs slammed me with unspeakable charges, we had to go into serious negotiations to reduce the cost, it took almost a month.

Finally, I was offered a lower price to pay which was tens of times the cost I would have paid going through a third-party shipper.

Since then, it is a third-party shipper or nothing.

The is so much human intervention and opacity in the operations of customs clearing in Nigeria, don't be a victim.

I only do this when I compare the cost both ways and confirm I can despite everything get it cheaper importing or quality cannot be sacrificed.

Purpose of lintel on this section is to cover any void portion like door, windows etc

Good idea but this is setting the cart before the horse.
They need constant electricity first. What is the point having CCTV if it’s not going to be functional. Not saying it cannot be done with alternative power sources but that is additional burden on homeowners, and might not even be sustainable.
I know a city in the US that has made it mandatory for certain business. They also require the owner to hand over the video recording Within 48-72 hours of request to authorities.
