Yeah, it's true that most of the harm drugusers suffer is from the impure version that's sold by these drugdealers.
Do you know bout that popular case of the B'day girl?? the ecstacy she took was only about 50% pure.
If we let the specialised bodies, say the NHS sell 'em, it'll be less harmful for recreational drug-users

Also, most of the shootings in drug-raids will be avoided easily if we legalise drugs.

But thing is, in the ideal society, people will take these drugs as prescribed, let the NHS help them to stop and never let it get to kids.
But no, this is not the ideal society, drugs will reach the wrong hands, the black market will still be there to top-up prescriptions, people will never be reasonable enough to attempt to quit.

NHS stop-smoking service is funded by tax-payers' money, still sum pple have been 'quittng' for 20 years . . . how do we know it will not follow the same path??

doesn't that mean drugs are a mental health problem rather than a criminal one. seriously most weed users are recreational users besides the Jamos he he. The income generated from cigarette taxes (which are regularly increased) foot the bill for many public services. tobacco is a major cash crop for many southern states (reason why cigar won't be illegal anytime soon).

This can be a boon for these lazy Naija state government from an economic point of view. Igbo, three for 20 naira.

if either of the above had been outlawed, there would be a major underground/underworld industry based off their supply.

alcohol destroys lives just as drugs do. cigarettes can ultimately destroy you.


as i see it, a situation in which nicotine is outlawed will first lead to an immediate rise in the price, and ultimately full scale crimnlaization, with nicotine grown in farms in third world countries, smuggled across borders and sold on the streets at millions of dollars for a kilo. just as in the case of drugs, it would be sold by people with no moral compuntions about cutting it with something else. using it would be far more dangerous than it currently is. in the pursuit of a higher market, dealers would look for ways to make it more addictive( they aren't bound by an consumer watchdogs etal) there would be tobacco kingpins, runnig parrellel governments.

i don't think anyone can deny that the current method is NOT working. drug use increases everyday.the fallout of the criminalization of drug use is even worse, as the resulting high rates they are sold for lead to a highly successful criminal class. at least IMHO, a situation where it is legalized may lead to drugs being sold and marketed by corporations etal, (who in the classic western way, would be ultimately liable to class actions etal) .

if prohition were still on, we'd probably have people selling their family possessions, alcohol being 'cut' with methanol. i'm even forgetting alcapone, the latter year equivalent of escobar and co.

Marijuana is one of the greatest agricultural product in world,it can be used for different things,from its soft fiber for making papers and clothes to its medicinal qualities,down to its by product potentials for making explosives and other industrial uses including bio-fuel,name it,its uses are unending and greatly beneficial,yet it is illegal,why?

Before the second world war,the use of marijauna for high in america was legal even among soldiers but after the war in 1948,american congress outlawed the use of marijuana both for industrial and personal use for they observe that it made dare-devil killers that are suppose to be soldiers pacifist,not willing to kill even a fly,they concluded it was the communist weapon to make america docile and sane.

Same law we follow even nigeria today,without even experimenting,zombies,always following without knowing why.

The last two posts are appreciated. Drug laws have to be reformed. The war on drugs has achieved little.
