I wonder if thats a team or bunch of boys playing without a direction.

I feel its high time we start calling each team in nigeria its name,

they should not be using names earned by people that have done serious work.

I dont think Amodu have anything to offer our football.

whats his excuse now is it the synthetic pitch or what

NFF take note

right this is the way out, is either this muder f^^kin coach get it or he goes, super eagles just need some new and fresh blood in the 1st team. I can understand the reason our eagles turns out in chicken outfits these days, cuz if the right thing is done super eagles will always be super and nigerianised. it funni some people just dnt know how bad the situation is, that they argue uselessly that there aint any minors in the game.

We might as well lose to countries like somalia or chad to feed your useless assumption

nonesense!!

Ikpeba warns Amodu - ’You don’t have a team tribune nigeria

EX-INTERNATIONAL, Victor Ikpeba has charged the Super Eagles chief coach, Shaibu Amodu to feature those who are playing regularly for their clubs instead of using inactive players in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers.

The Prince of Monaco as he's fondly called by his admirers, in an interview with a local radio station pointed out that the players the national team paraded against Mozambique last Sunday were not the future of the country because, their approach towards the match was unNigerian.

Ikepba stated that Amodu should inject fresh blood into the team before it's too late stressing that it must be those who were ready to fight anytime.

"We are the giant of Africa and we must show this to the world in general with our ability and calibre of players we have. We should always field committed players."

"Eagles still have a long way to go if we want to qualify for South Africa 2010, we are playing Kenya and Tunisia at away and we must not lose these games. Amodu should proffer solution and fortify the team before the clash with Kenya on June 6, and ensure that we win convincingly in order to restore our hope of going to the 2010 World Cup,” Ikpeba, a member of the Atlanta '96 Dream Team gold medallists said.

NFF to boost team with fresh call-ups, prepares for Ireland, France
By Christian Okpara

WORRIED by the Super Eagles' poor performance in the 2010 World Cup qualifier against Mozambique in Maputo last weekend, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has set in motion efforts to get new and committed players for the team's next qualifier against Kenya.

Nigeria hosts Kenya in its second game of the last round of the South Africa 2010 qualifiers on June 7. A source close to the NFF, who pleaded anonymity, told The Guardian yesterday that the body was excited by the news that Hoffenheim striker, Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi, and Everton defender, Joseph Yobo, were on the verge of returning to action after sitting out their clubs' recent matches due to injuries.

He added, however, that the NFF was planning to scout Europe for players that would give their best in the service of the country. According to the source, "everybody agrees that the team did not put up a good fight in the game against Mozambique, and the truth is that we are suddenly in a tight position.

"Many people will not admit it openly, but there is an existing threat that we might not make the World Cup if we continued to condone the type of performance we saw in Maputo. So, to avoid the mistake that cost us the 2006 World Cup, we are beginning immediately to look for players who will play for Nigeria with all their hearts."

Though he was not sure whether the search for new players would be extended to the local league, he revealed that some of the new players would be tested in the friendly matches against Ireland and France on May 29 and June 3. On plans for the match against Kenya, the NFF Media Officer, Ademola Olajire, said the team would reconvene in Abuja immediately after the friendly on June 3, which would give it four days to plan for the Harambee Stars.

With one point from its opening match, Nigeria lies in second position behind Tunisia, which has three points after its away victory in Kenya. To get its race to the World Cup back on track, Nigeria has to beat Kenya in Abuja and get a good result in Tunisia on June 20.
