2003 Nissan 350z Restoration by autofreak1(m): 8:36pm On Aug 29, 2015
Just got this ride. Engine and tranny look and work fine, though engine scan shows bad O2 sensors. Engine loses power at some point and SLIP shows on the dash but once I step off the gas, the SLIP warning on the dash goes off and car is tearing down the highway. The interior needs a lot of work, suspension, stabilizer linkages and all not too good too. Looking to restore to an almost brand new state.

I'm not sure the pictures of the car you posted can pass for a restoration job.

There basically is nothing to restore there.

@lungwun...pics do lie. The seats are broken hence the pillow on the driver seat. Thinking Recaro or Sparco racing seats. Dashboard needs to be worked on, squeaks and sings while you drive (getting carbon fibre dash kits for a new looks after tightening all loose ends). The whole body needs to be strip down to almost bare metal, full of body fillers and uneven surfaces. Windscreen has been changed and was poorly done, windscreen wipers and wash system bad. Power window controls for both doors can hardly take the windows up and down. Water gets into the car in between the windows and the rubbers by the door pillars. Drivers door won't open unless you go in from passenger side. Car won't start unless you open the driver's door. Audio system is some cheap China brand that can't pick out clear local FM stations. Suspension feels like concrete, car swerves to the right if you take your hands off the wheel. Tie rod ends, control arms, bushings etc need replacements. All fluids and tires need to be changed. Looking at over $4k in replacement parts, paint job, seats, electrical work and all. I got the car for less than that. That's all I can remember for now. If this isnt restoration, I have no clue what it is. Pics attached (what I expect to achieve). Two tone paint preferably black and blue with matching seats and maybe some carbon fibre wraps round the hood.

Vehicle Restoration is the process of restoring a vehicle that is either partially scrapped or otherwise life expired back to its original working condition.

That's what I know as restoration.

Not trying to rain on your parade but This is merely a fixer-upper. All it needs is maintenance.

I tire for the topic and the content oo.
However, this ride is a beast. I'll like to see what will come out of it

I wonder who came up with this explanation. Wiki or lungwun? Restoration in simple language is taking an object from its present state to a much better initial state. If all I stated is what you do when you do maintenance on your car everytime, cool.

So just got back to Lagos from Abj, got a key guy to get rid of the aftermarket key and remote and replace with Nissan OEM key and remote. My guy at Glass house Alausa was also able to get the registration papers delivered today. Car will be moved to the auto shop tomorrow or Monday. Then the real work starts. I am sure I'll need Siena's expertise once it gets to the auto shop.

Updates will come in from next week. I'm excited grin grin grin

ba7man, that's my hood. Took it for a drive with a mechanic today. Yea looks neat from afar. Drive is terrible due to dead suspensions and all.
