Mandeyy:
You can. Just do well in it. Graduate with upper credit, then purchase a direct entry form, and choose UNN. You'll be offered DE admission into medical laboratory science, after scoring 270 or more in it's DE screening. But since you're about to start the OND programme, you can as well sit for UTME again. Don't throw away the OND programme; continue being in the programme while taking another UTME.
Re: Medical Laboratory Scientists Forum by Dddyy: 8:40am On Jan 04
[quote author=Mandeyy post=85181309] It's not slim. OND, SLT is widely accepted for DE into medical laboratory science. However, he should take UTME as well to stand a better chance. This is because the number of DE candidates with OND, SLT is always higher. He should also apply to a state university. If he's in the East, he should apply to UNN. With 270 in its post-DE screening, he'll be offered DE admission into medical laboratory science. Post-DE screening is taken in September or October at the main UNN campus. It's also easy to get 270 in the post- DE screening. Post-UTME screening is for JAMBites while post-DE is for DE candi

Every University that offers MLS has their Uniqueness. They are all good in their own way.
So it boils down to you, where you want to study, the cost, etal
But if it is about Quality in the Teaching of MLS, All the Accredited Universities are Fairly Okay.

Most DE starts from 2nd Year.

Good day everyone. Who else has noticed there's no thread on here detailing how Medical laboratory Scientists in Nigeria can get their certification/licensing done in order to immigrate abroad. You know what I'm saying right? because I've combed the nooks and crannies of this forum and I couldn't find any.

I believe we should also we should also be discussing/sharing opportunities on how to do these things like other health professionals do. If you check around well you'll will see threads created by physicians, nurses, physios and pharmacists dedicated to encourage, to teach and enlighten their colleagues about how to go about these things, the prospects of practising abroad, etc. I'm sure you get my point.

Yes, let everyone do something about it. I'm about to write my final professional exam and it'd be nice to be enlightened about getting good internship placement and migrating too.

Is BUK accredited to offer Mls?
I heard it's a provisional course there, and it's not yet accredited. Please how true is this? I want to be sure before registering for direct entry.

Hi there, Padmore Boakye is my name, a Ghanaian Doctor of medical laboratory science student at the university for development studies, Tamale
I just want to use this channel to let the medical doctors know that, they don't work alone and we really appreciate their efforts in contributing to saving lives, they should focus on doing their work, and medical lab upgrading to doctorate is strictly none of their business. Infact we love our profession and they can also choose to take measures in promoting their profession too.
Thank you.
No hard feelings to u medics, just know right!!

Covid19 is favouring this noble profession. I'm sure there would be nomore internship placement problem since laboratories and diagnostic centers are on the rise.
