Hello house. I bought a used phone on amazon. When it arrived here in Nigeria and I put in my sim it did not work. I checked online and the imei has been blacklisted by t-mobile.

Please is there any solution for this problem? Can I unlock it or have the imei changed? I can't return the phone because the cost of shipping it back is very high.

If its an Apple device,sell the phone as scrap to a phone technician.....

Blacklisted means it was reported as stolen.

I repeat,sell the device as a scrap.

This is why one has to be careful when buying used items, in most cases they're stolen. I don't think any phone technician can unlock this.

Report the seller to Amazon, send pictures of the phone with a sim card inserted..You might even get to keep the device and your money refunded. Amazon and ebay don't play with their customers..

Your friend should have inspected the phone before bringing it down. After all it's not a new one

bros you can unlock the phone for international use only. Blacklisted imei means its been reported lost,stolen or phone was on contract and not fully paid off-therefore blocked from tmobile service you should have no problem unlocking it here. If you reside in lagos goto computer village- the technicians there will unlock it for you for a token. Or contact unclesamtech here on NL.

1.You can buy from Amazon via websites like Mall4Africa and Circuit Atlantic

2.You can buy direct from Amazon....but shipping costs are going to be high.(Investigated once, did not like the shipping costs).

3.Or as suggested upthread....have Amazon ship it to an adress in the US.....and then have your pal or relative at that address send it to you

Who told you that you have to pay for returns.black listed phones where stollen so mail amazon and complain they will refund your money not the seller. Then they will deal with the seller as they have his bank details.
