The longer that fruits or vegetables sit around waiting to be sold or eaten, the more nutrients they lose. But fruits and vegetables grown for freezing are usually frozen right after they're picked. Therefore, they have less time to lose their nutrients

You don't have to give up foods like hamburgers, french fries, and ice cream to eat healthfully. You just have to be smart about how often and how much of them you eat. Your body needs nutrients like protein, carbohydrates, fat, and many different vitamins and minerals such as vitamins C and A, iron, and calcium from a variety of foods.
~~~
A healthy eating style is like a puzzle with many parts. Each part, or food, is different. Some foods may have more fat, sugar or salt, while others may have more vitamins or fibre. There is a place for all these foods. What makes a diet good or bad is how foods fit together. Balancing your choices is important. Fit in a higher-fat food, like pepperoni pizza, at dinner by choosing lower-fat foods at other meals. And don't forget about moderation. If two pieces of pizza fill you up, don't eat a third.
Kopi Luwak are coffee beans that come from Civet (a cat sized mammal) poo. The animals gorge on only the finest ripe berries, and excrete the partially-digested beans, which are then harvested for sale. Kopi Luwak is the most expensive coffee in the world, selling for between $120 and $600 USD per pound, and is sold mainly in Japan and United States, but it is increasingly becoming available elsewhere
If a stew or soup is too salt,  put a couple of small raw potatoes in it.  The potatoes will absorb the excess salt
If an egg cracks while it is boiling, it won't come out of its shell if you add  vinegar to the water
Sugar or sweetening agents have the following purposes in baking:
*They add sweetness and flavor
*They create tenderness and fineness if texture, partly by weakening the gluten structure
*They give crust color
*They increase keeping qualities by retaining moisture
*They act as creaming agents with fats an as goaming agents with eggs.
*They provide food for yeast
Bread made with chemical leavens (Baking Powder and Baking soda) are quick to bake unlike breads made with yeast
I saw this on FN and thought I should share
How to get juice out of a hard lemon/orange?
Microwave the lemon/orange (Don't peel or cut the lemon) on high for about 30 seconds.
When it's done, take the lemon/orange out from the microwave and cut into half
Sure enough you'll see more juice coming out easily
