I want to apply for a usa visiting visa... But i have been refused by Uk 3times and they stamp on my passport.. What the chance of getting the USA visa with the same passport..
1. The US and UK are different countries. A refusal to one country Does not mean automatic refusal to other
However, you muust convince the VO that you will return to nigeria if you are Granted visa. Sometimes , they look at previous travel history as a guide.
2. Under no circumstance however should u lie about the Refusals

Visiting Philadelphia in a week time. Finding affordable accommodation near my conference venue has been hectic. I finally got a retired BnB apartment at $800 for 8 days just five minutes walk from the city centre and 3 minutes to my conference venue on Market St. As anyone used BnB before in the U.S.?

it's expensive try another place maybe 10-15mins walk from the conference center I'm sure you can half the price or get something around $500-$600.

That was the cheapest I could get at a discount. Hotel near the city centre is from $115-160 per day. I tried booking.com and all known hotel website; they were either not available for days or too expensive near my conference venue. This cheapest was skyview hotel at $600 but I have to take a bus everyday and the review about the hotel was discouraging. The only saving I have is I am sharing the accommodation with a colleague also coming for ASTMH meeting.

That rate offered me accommodation near the Philadelphia airport and I have to take a taxi at $15 x2 everyday for 8 days. I guess the city is an expensive place to visit. If you can find any place cheaper, I would like to check it out, as I am not paying until I get to the BnB.

$800 is expensive...but then, because of its proximity to the conference venue you may want to just stay there for convenience...(if you add the cost of transportation etc, it might turn out to be cheaper)... I will be staying at the same hotel where my conference (also in Philadelphia, also on market street and also next week...hehehe) is taking place- and it is just over $1600 for 7 nights- but then, I am not the one paying smiley smiley

I salute everybody here o smiley

Somebody told me My high chance of getting a B1/B2 visa and he is demanding for some certain amount to arrange the necessary documents but I figure out that it's a thing I can apply for by myself.

My profile below

I live in a country and I am living legally with a student visa.

Letter head paper stating my information with the school stamp.

My resident permit.

Statement of account from my dad as the sponsorer cos I don't have an account in Nigeria.

Though my dad do go to US but he only goes to buy market and return. let's say every 4month depending on how sales is.

At least I have a travel experience already.

I have a relatives/friends that can accommodate me there but if it requires hotel reservation, I can arrange for that.

Guru's in the house what's my chance of getting the visa and is there any other requirements I will need ? Is it advisable to apply in a country I reside or I should go back home and apply?

Help a brother cool

I think two days prior to the interview date though I've heard of someone who submitted his form a few hours to his interview. Not sure how true that is

1.You write a note clearly for the cbp egs ' I AM GOING TO 123 PORTSMORTH AVE TO VISIT MY SON WITH PHONE NO...
2. You look for a nice looking person at the check in and beg her to keep an eye out for the old person.
NB: IS she flying direct? Make she no loss for road o! cheesy
3. Also nicely ask the staff at check in to kindly ask their colleagues to keep a look out for her.
All airlines are customer friendly in general. Also when booking u might look at the special needs required and maybe ask for a wheel chair. Might help

Lemme start from the last. Its best to apply where u have a tie. You are a student with a resident permit so u can apply from the country where you are.
Note: your father's travel habits has no bearing on your application.
What are u going for? Why?
Your travel history na to where? Burundi? cheesy
As for documents, u gotta read the part 2. Boku info dey on that
You can use either hotel or relatives. But as a student, I assume you are young with daddy sponsoring I advice youu stay with relatives.

I am sharing mine with a colleague who will join for 4 days, so cost to me is just $600. I am funding this trip solo, because I will be networking with several scientists. The cost to me is an investment and I don't mind. Beside the accommodation is an apartment according to the owner. If you're coming to ASTHM let me know so that we can find each other. cheers

I will have full cooking facility with my accommodation. The owner said it's an apartment with my own door bell and keys. Maybe you can use my kitchen to cook all the Nigerian food for your hubby. Just come with egusi, ogbonu, garri etc. Sorry I'm arriving from Switzerland so I can come with these food stuffs. Just PM for further discussion. Cheers
