EXPOSED! - SENATOR ADAMU ALIERO AND THE
POLITICS OF RICE!
Nigeria’s senate and the consortium of some
business moguls in the country have step up
behind the scenes movements to halt the efforts
of the present administration of Muhammadu
Buhari in making food available for the nation’s
citizens in the near future.
It could be recalled that the Administrator of the
Nigeria Custom Rtd. Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali, has
ordered the immediate lift of ban for rice
importation into the country with a view to
making rice available at a relative low price.
Under this arrangement, rice is expected to be
sold at maximum of six thousand Naira (N6,000)
instead of its present average price of ten
thousand Naira (N10,000). But the Senate is
being used to abort this plan in favour of the
millers, smugglers and bigwigs farmers who have
been exploiting Nigerians by making rice one of
the most expensive commodities on earth.
In its seating of Tuesday the 13th of October, the
Nigerian Senate passed a resolution to a motion
raised by Senator Adamu Aliero from Kebbi State
on stopping the Custom from lifting the rice ban
in Nigerian boarders. For the record, Senator
Aliero who was two times Governor of Kebbi
State, is one of the Nigeria’s biggest Rice Millers,
he owns the Labana Rice Mills located at Sani
Abacha Bye Pass in Birnin Kebbi, so he could not
allow such a favour of allowing Nigerian masses
to get rice at a very low price as targeted by the
Nigerian Custom new leadership under Col.
Hameed Ali (Rtd). He (Sen Aliero) was a custom
officer, and of course one the most corruptible
officers that the custom service had ever
produced in Nigeria.
It was allegedly gathered that Aliero was found
with gross misconduct when he was serving the
NCS, he was probed by a panel and
recommended for dismissal, but having presented
certificate of a psychiatric hospital describing him
as mentally ill, the Nigeria Custom Service
accepted his voluntary resignation in place of the
proposed dismissal after which he contested for
Governorship election in his home State Kebbi.
It is proved that the Senate is the only entity that
is frequently used against the present
administration and Senator Aliero represents both
the enemies of Nigeria in the Senate and the
conglomerate of Rice Millers, Rice Smugglers and
those that almost destroyed the Nigeria Custom
in the last three decades. Col. Hameed Ali would
appear before the Senate next week to explain his
reasons for lifting of the rice importation ban
which was meant to make rice available at a very
low price for the next two years pending when the
Nigerian government plans to redouble efforts in
significantly increasing the rice production within
the Country are put in place.
Fellow Nigerians, let’s support Col. Hammed Ali
with all we can against the devilish Nigerian
Senate that is all out to mocking the desired
change we have been looking forward to see in a
New Nigeria.

At least the man has rice mills that will produce Nigerian rice, employ Nigerians, grow Nigerian rice industry, reduce our dependence on importation of foreign rice. What are the short term and long term implications of continuous importation? Loss of Nigerian jobs Loss of industry expertise Dependent of rice importation on foreign exchange |
