|UNIZIK 2nd List Not Yet Out- 2015 by beloxxi(m): 7:28pm On Oct 18, 2015|
This is to inform prospective students of (the Nnamdi Azikiwe University)
UNIZIK, that the 2015/16 2nd batch admission list for the academic session has not yet being released. This post is dedicated to educate these applicants about the importance of proper information dissemination about the release of their result and the consequences of being a victim of admission scam.
UNIZIK does not upload their results on third party websites neither do they admit students via the help of anybody nor so called school administrators. In this article you would also get to know how UNIZIK admits students legitimately.
UNIZIK ADMISSION BY MERIT: Admissions by this process always becomes the first list of admissions. Students who are admitted by this process are students who actually reach the departmental cut-off mark or surpass it. They make the 1st batch of admissions list and this process is solely by merit.
UNIZIK ADMISSION LIST BY SUPPLEMTARY (2nd admission batch list): The term ‘supplementary’ here does not mean buying of forms to apply for preferred departments. This ritual is seldom carried out by state owned institutions depending on the need.
UNIZIK supplementary list actually means that: when the number of students admitted in a particular department falls below the expected number of students for that department, the school then compiles a comprehensive list of student who actually passed the UNIZIK Pume exam but did not beat the departmental cut off mark and adds them up to seal the required number of students to be admitted in the required department in UNIZIK. Example below:
NAME OF DEPT.
UNIZIK ADMSISSION STATUS
UNIZIK NOT YET
UNIZIK NOT YET
The table above shows that UNIZIK cut-off mark of the department of mechanical engineering was 240. And s those who met and surpassed it got the admissions by merit. The one highlighted in green shows that they did not get the admission by merit, it was by supplementary because the department needed only 5 students 3 passed the UNIZIK cut-off point so they needed more so they added the remaining based on score proximity.
UNIZIK ADMISSION BY CATCHMENT AREA: Catchments can be defined based upon a number of factors including distance to the facility, actual travel time to the facility, geographic boundaries or population within the catchment. In a distance based catchment, the area serviced will often depend on the number of visits expected to that UNIZIK by each student. For example, it may be more acceptable to have a larger catchment for a hospital where any one individual will have few annual visits in comparison to a school where visits will be daily and hence desired distance would be closer. When a facility’s capacity can only service a certain volume, the catchment may be used to limit a population’s ability to access services outside of that area. For example; students may be unable to enroll in a school outside of their catchment to prevent the school's services being exceeded. So it is left for UNIZIK to decide the cut-off based on catchment
UNIZIK ADMISSION VIA LECTURERS/DEAN/PROF: This admission has no cut-off mark but by the benefit of your relation who is a dean/prof/lecturer is given that he has 1 or 2 slot for admission. Not all lectures have this privilege even the privileged staff has a maximum number of 2 if not one. So if your dad or uncle is a prof of UNIZIK Thank God for you.
UNIZIK ADMISSION BY VC LIST: This admission is given by the VC’s recommendation for you and this list is actually the last list mostly published few days to the matric or on that matric week.
Hope you have understood about the admission process or procedures by UNIZIK.
