The link road between between Onuebum and Otuoke, the hometown of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State, has been devastated by flood.

The road is the shortest route to Ogbia town for many motorists coming from the Azikoro axis of Yenagoa, the state capital.

The road, which serves as a link road to the Otuoke community, which hosts a Federal University with a large student population, was buried under the flood.

While most natives have resorted to the use of big trucks and bigger vehicles to commute from the community, other motorists especially commercial vehicles plying the route through the Azikoro axis, are now forced to go through the Elebele-Emeyal flank.

LEADERSHIP’s visit to the area revealed that several car owners making a U-turn on getting to the flooded portion of the road for fear of being swept off by the current.

Also, restaurant operators and palm sellers along the route have been displaced by the surging flood.

A driver who simply identified himself as Dadiowei told this reporter that he and fellow drivers had since abandoned the Azikoro-Agbura-Onuebum-Otuoke route because of the huge flood.

"You may turn into an archangel, a fool or a criminal? No one will see it. But when a button is missing? everybody sees it" - Erich Maria

The place of your primary consistency should be an utmost importance to any reasonable politician who sees himself/herself representing the interest of the people simply because he primarily bears the people's mandate.
Jonathan is not alone in this kind of ugly misrepresentation of the people by greedy and selfish politicians. Take a tour to Otukpo, David Mark home town, and you will understand that these guys are simply after their personal enrichment and not representing the interest of the people.

One of the reasons why Amaechi turned his back to GEJ.

He failed to address the problems Niger Deltans are facing.

Amaechi will be like grin grin grin now

No matter what, Jona would fly over the town, lands in his mansion and many leaders of Otuoke would still pay homage to 'their son' while they had to swim to get to see him.

This is no news to me as it's the same all over the country.

The people are as good as their leader.

please stop making noise and claming that GEJ didnt do well for his people.......i have been to bayelsa and i can tell you that the whole of gej town is almost a submerged swamp and that just digging 1 metre into the ground you will see brackish water. There is hardly any amount of investment you can make to stop the place from been flooded unless you build water dykes like those that can be found in netherland and belgium but that still would not be enough and costs billions......even deveopled counttries of netherland can still now avoid a flood and usa cannot still prevent a hurricane......
