According to research there’s something important you’re not doing—and you’re far from alone in your torpidity, because most Africans are every bit as lax as you are on this score. Too many guys aren’t filling the recommended half of their plates with fruit and vegetables, and if you’re part of this crowd it’s something you’ll need to address, because your diet is likely deficient in the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals your body needs for optimum health—and no, canned fruit and fruit juices don’t count.
If an apple a day keeps the doctor away, the information on these pages might just put him out of business. Here are our top eight fruit A-listers.

1. Pomegranate- reverse oxidative damage e.g erectile dysfunction

2. Pawpaw - release gas from indigestion

3. Grapefruit - great appetite suppressant

4. Apple- colon health & control blood sugar level

5. Cherry- ease ache and pains.

6. Lemon - reduces body fat & indigestion

7. Grape- post training snack to replenish lost glycogen

8. Blackberry - helps lower risk of prostate

SOURCE

op, you haven't told us the health benefits of our own fruits down here in Nigeria.
Ain't nothing better than banana and pineapple.
The Oyibo man will tell you: "an apple a day keeps the doctor away".
Why?
Because he wants you to believe your fruits are good for nothing.
For those saying they love apple and the rest, if you have been eating more apples than other fruits from childhood, your love for bananas would have known no bounds.
"A mango a day puts the doctor out of business".

Hit "like" if you like Nigerian fruits!

Most of these fruits are not easily accessible in Nigeria. I know every single part of the pawpaw plant (barks, seeds, leaves, unripe fruit) is very medicinal and bootsthe immune system

Thank you o! More than half the fruits listed are hard to get in Nigeria.

How are we going to reduce trade deficit with all these imported fruits? Go local like this:

African Star apple (agbalumo)
Velvet skin star apple (ekpiro/ekpido in Edo)
Wild berries (Oruru in Edo)
Watermelon
Sugarcane
Pawpaw
Orange
Banana & ripe plantain
Ogbono (yes a certain type called Ogui in Edo) has the most nutritious bitter-sweet pulp
Soursop
Carrots
Cashew
Pepper fruit

All these grow across Edo/Ondo/Delta/Ekiti areas and beyond.
These fruits have powerful anti-oxidants comparable or better than that list.

I don't joke with watermelon ooo, especially when I'm looking forward to a good time with my woman. Watermelon is a very good antioxidant plus the seeds are natural source of viagra... Don't tell my woman ooo she's still in the dark bout this. Oh! Be sure to grind the seeds well enough or your digestive system spew it out just as it goes in #modified

1 pomegranate at the supermarket is 2000 (2k will get me a basket of fruits at Ketu fruit market)
Blackberry too is like 2500 or there about. Oyinbo lemons are like 2 for 1400, depends on the size while our local ones sells for 50naira per 1.

It's not that expensive bro.. The tree is in my place in delta state..

Its famous for coloring the tongue purple. As children, we called it licki licki.

If I find pics,, it's show you the tree when I plucked last year as proof

We are Nigerians in Nigeria!
Pls do research on our local fruits like odara, sourchop, native apple, our local orange etc. Then it would benefit us. Cos all these imported foreign fruits are poisonous.

5 out of the 8 listed are grown in Nigeria so?
