Abubakar Audu, APC’s governorship candidate in Kogi State set to be named winner

All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Abubakar Audu, has won the gubernatorial election defeating incumbent Idris Wada in a keenly contested but peaceful election.

After the announcement of results in 21 LGAs by INEC officials, APC polled 247,149 against PDP’s 204,976 with result from one LGA yet to be announced.

INEC is however yet to official name Audu winner.

The good thing about elections in Nigeria now is that it's extremely difficult to inflate figures. In the past, at the height of PDP rigging, there were 99% voters turnout and 95% win rate for PDP in their stronghold.

Introduction of card reader and PVC has obviously eliminated such fraudulent practices as clearly evident in the last general election and this Kogi electio. In Kogi, voters turnout cannot be up to 40% and percentage of votes cast not even 100% of accredited voters.

We owe Jega credit for the introduction of mechanisms that will rastically reduce malpractices and retun confidence into the process.

Victory for democracy. Like I said in my previous post another PDP governor will go down and it came true. This is also food for thought for the current ruling party. The people will decide their faith when the occasion calls for it. We are also watching tem closely. All what we need is good governance !!!
