500 Nigerians Deported From The UK Arrive Lagos by Nobody: 12:35pm On Nov 25, 2015

About 500 Nigerian deportees will arrive in Nigeria from the United Kingdom this morning aboard a chartered flight.

The chartered flight, according to Leadership, was expected to take off from London Stansted airport via a private charter company, Titan Airways.

It was confirmed that the flight was scheduled to depart from the United Kingdom on Tuesday, November 24, at about 10.30pm Nigerian time to land in Lagos on Wednesday, November 25 at about 6.00am.

This move is a monthly exercise by the UK government, in which about 100 detainees from the UK are deported to their respective countries via charter flights commonly run by Titan Airways.

Latest reports monitored on the BBC inform that the plane carrying about 500 Nigerians deported from the UK has landed in Lagos.

According to the report, most of the deportees expressed their sadness to return to the country.

One of the deportees stated that he was arrested by British police and was not allowed to even take his belongings before being deported.

It was gathered that some of the deportees who claimed not to have relatives in Nigeria are stranded in the airport.

Authorities in Nigeria had expressed their concern over UK’s plan to deport 29,000 Nigerians, and has insisted that due process be followed before Nigerians are removed from the UK.

This falls on the Nigerian government for accepting them. It is unlawful to deport folks like that on a chartered flight.

A lot of the folks they have been sending back to Nigeria since the Tories came to power have been in the UK since they were kids, and they also have kids. All they know is the UK and they are not illegal immigrants. A lot of them just committed serious crimes and once you have been to prison for more than 18months now, if you are not born in the UK - the home office will cancel ya legal status.

A few people I grew up with have also been sent back cos of jail and they were never illegal immigrants. Nigeria is to blame. How these folks will assimilate into a country they haven't been to since they were between age 1-7 is still a mystery to me.

Where is lalasticlala sef.....

Jonathan sef embarassed

- we need to open an emergency centre and take stock - region by region ( the respective state government should be responsible)
- we need to check for Ebola patients in this first batch and also take their fingerprints at the point of entry.
- Telcos should open a free contact centre so that individuals can keep in touch with their families and relatives (MTN should take note)
- we need to open a counselling centre to educate them that "No place like home."
- the kids/children in this first batch should be taken care of immediately including providing diapers, meals etc
- banks should approach the returnees for account opening
- Olx can approach them so that they can dispose off their assets electronically including tablets, laptops, wears etc
- The Ministry of Information and Culture should publish the names of the returnees in leading media houses (print and electronic).

You are right, it's no secret that the Tories are vehemently indisposed to immigration. Cameron is only continuing from where Thatcher left off.

The above article was posted here on Nairaland some days back. The Nigerian Government under PMB turned a blind eye to it.Now the chips are down.
If the Nigerian Government under PMB cannot protect her citizens in the country, how do u expect the government to protect those is diaspora?
Everything's falling apart so quickly after all the empty promises and claims.
Now more citizens coming home to be greeted by hardship and suffering.
