at times when i see some comments on hiphop forums, i wonder if truly some pple know what hiphop is all about. lets start from nigeria, eedris dissed black face ruggedman took things to another level, he sold records got noticed,he left little fish cos they want him to stop beefing pple and talk about something else, had same problem with ojb. when ruggedman saw no one to beef anymore,, he started preaching pidgin and fussing naija into ur rapper which eedris ,rasquie and olumaintain were all doing. as far as i am concerned homeboy is totally confused,he is finding it hard to stay relevant music wise,so he is finding all way to stay relevant just like someone who has lived in washington for his whole life with nothing to show. |

Who has details of what happened between the duo.? Ill bliss again. I hope to cop the album soon & listen to the track Ruggedman has a whole lot of assignments to do on his next album as he has there's alot for him to say now rap/Mic wise. I think He should just do the Rick ross style and address everybody on the album and make it classic. just my 2 kobos |

Ruggedman lands in ‘Nokia millions’ Written by Vanguard Saturday, 23 May 2009 He may not have received any nominations at the Hip Hop World Awards ‘09, yet it doesn’t mean things aren’t happening for him. Ruggedman has just sealed a ring tone deal with phone giants, Nokia. This is only one of the good things happening for this rapper around now. The song whose rights have been bought by Nokia is taken off his 2008 Hip Hop World Awards Best Rap Album titled Ruggedy Baba. The deal was brokered by Carl Racca of Orangotang and the rapper is said to be paid in an undisclosed amount of dollars. The package, we learn, is to include a tour around a number of European countries whose details are still being finalised. The popular award winning rapper also received another award recently in Ibadan and then had the rare privilege of having an award christened after him elsewhere in Ibadan. The rapper who is currently on tour with Star Trek after successfully hosting Star Quest—Nigerian Breweries PLC’s singing talent hunt show, and compering the official media launch of MTN’s second edition of Project Fame is head over heels at the moment for all of these happenings. Away in Ibadan, rapper Ruggedman received the ‘Dream Come True Well Done Award’, a trophy specifically awarded to people who have become icons in their field and are generally admired for their accomplished feats in their field(s) of endeavour. It was presented to the rapper by Jazzy B, host of ‘Dream Come true’; a popular talk show aired on local stations in Ibadan and Mnet. In the same vein, students of the University of Ibadan have decided to name the ‘Most Talented Award’- to be given out in the first ever students’ award night in the university’s history- after Ruggedman. It is christened ‘the Ugochukwu Stephens Ruggedman Award’. The University of Ibadan Students Award is designed to encourage students in their academic pursuits and extra curricular activities and to discourage social vices on campus. To show support and appreciation, the rapper has vowed to be present at the ceremony as he recognises the honour to be a first in Nigeria- ‘when an award is named after an artist’. Additionally, news has it that Ruggedman is about to shoot another video for his next, third and last album. It will be directed by Dede Oji; the same who was behind the ‘Banging’ video which is getting rotation on Tv stations nationwide, in Europe and the internet. So don’t be surprised when you buy the Nokia 5800 Xpress music phone and you find Ruggedman’s “Club Rugged” as one of the ring tones. DBR: Kindly elaborate on this comparison as i find it ambiguous and vague 'cos have the "foggiest" idea on the reason for MEND's belligerant stance and timing. A discussion for another thread i think, DBR: But this same line of argument wasn't "lame" and preposterous when it was adduced for Ghetto p's cheap(yeah i call it cheap same as Ill's) shot at Mode 9. I mean most of y'all against GP termed it his "2 mins of fame" Isn't what is sauce for the goose sauce for the gander anymore  Until someone here narrates in graphic details the reason for these incessant vitriolic attack on RM,i think it will remain a cheap publicity stunt to me |

Who knew Ruggedman back then before he came up and dissed almost everybody in the music industry? That's publicity stunt Gheto P dissing Mode is another Publicity stunt because no one knows him till now and he's only remembered as the guy tryna get fame through a non existing beef.Now i don't know his reasons but whatever reason he has defeats the purpose.He needs to come up 1st through hard work,then diss later.Dude is a lil bit lyrical though.Haven't heard any of his shit apart from the diss track, We can't say Illbliss is tryna pull a stunt here because he's already carved a Niche for himself and got his stance. Modenine is just one cat that's worthy of all the love shown here.He took the road less traveled by and that has made all the difference.It takes mad skills to get recognition if you're hardcore in Nigeria where 95% of the population think 9ice is Hip-Hop and the industry's state of mind is far from Hip Hop. He didn't want to diss Ruggedman openly but he asked for it and he got it.Dude already got two albums,a lotta mixtapes and awards and i don't see any publicity stunt here. |
