I just checked the pictures you dropped earlier... Pls tell your brother not to buy that phone....

It's actually a clone...

Whoever manufactured that thing did a crazy job in replicating the original phone but there are still some noticeable differences such as the battery icon and also the double baseband you pointed out earlier.

The battery icon is even different from the stock...

Return the phone and search for the original.....
