Does that mean the death of Audu in kogi state translate to the Death of Apc in kogi state. One of the guidelines of running for an election is that, there shall be a party that will sponsor you in any electoral period. This simply means if you are as popular as Barrack Obama, you must run political ambition or election under one political party.Which mean the party you are running under first comes before you.
thats why i said its either weda or fresh election shld hold

Acidosis:
Wada has a point. Failure of the 1st should ordinarily translate to crowing the second.

As far as the election is concerned, Wada holds the second position of all the over 15 participant in the election.

Let's all learn to apply both constitutional wisdom and commonsense.

I personally do not want WADA to rule for another 4 years, but frankly, he has a good case.

If Wada and Audu had died, we'd gladly call on the third leading candidate/party, AD or Labour Party.

I've also learned not to make critical decisions based on NAIRALAND posts. Wada still has an overwhelming support from the people of KOGI. Majority of the Kogi Civil Servants preferred Wada to Audu. Audu only defeated with a small margin.

In as much as I dis-love his style of leadership, his case is very tenable and let's stop making senseless comments about his decision to prove his case.

As old as u re how come u re this senseless?
Is this how u display ur ignorance all over social media?

At bolded, was the name of his deputy and his party not there too? However, I do not see the reason why you deviate from the subject of discussion: if you want to cry over the last defeat of GEJ in the last election, you are free to open another thread.

You are just deficient when it comes to intelligent reasoning.

And to even imagine that this same Wada prior to him joining politics, always curse and curse politicians and even swear he can never have anything to do with politics...yet, his 4year term is the most useless term ever witnessed in any state in Nigeria...even Theodore Orji better Wada by far

No section of Nigerian constitution gives room for independent candidate during election in Nigeria: stop displaying your ignorance here dude. However, the death of a candidate cannot affect the continuity of a party; this is one of the major reasons for which the office of Deputy is constitutionally created whether at Federal, state or Local level.

Despite the fact that Amaechi was not presented as the party's flag-bearer during election, no election was re-conducted before he was sworn in as the Governor: the mandate which he didn't work for.

At the end, the court held that electorate's vote belong to the party, but not its flag-bearer during election.

Commonsense without legal backing is nothing in a sane society: it will be credible enough if you can learn to legalize your commonsense please. tongue tongue tongue
By learned brother,no need of educating these set of people. No matter how you educate them, they will continue jumping from pillar to post simply because of their PERSONAL EMOTION.And they have forgotten that no where in the world that laws are being interpreted based on one's EMOTION.

Wada! How did you win the election? This is so unprofessional, coming from someone like you. The elections were announced to be inconclusive by the electoral body(INEC). Therefore supplementary polls should be carried out when the APC produces it's candidate for the polls. Till then, Wada just take a chill pill and pray luck shines on you. Rest in peace Audu. Faleke and yahya should also pray.

Was Abubakar Audu an independent candidate?

Votes can only die with an independent candidate, just like if an independent candidate dies before an election, there is no right of substitution as provided by law.

APC has a right of substitution, the electoral act is clear:

Section 33.
''A political party shall not be allowed to change or substitute its candidate whose name has been submitted pursuant to section 31 of this Act, except in the case of death or withdrawal by the candidate".

to me he is very right because i know APSshits would have influenced judgement in their favour if PDP was winning and the candidate dies. but we all know APC sha. Audus votes should actually be cancelled and given to the next runner up. The case of Taraba State and how APShits influenced judgement in their favour is still fresh on our minds. APC u must'nt win in all the states for Gods sake!
