A good weight loss program should comprise exercises that increase your metabolism, burn fat and also tone your body at the same time. It should also contain a healthy meal plan that won’t leave your pocket shallow or turn you into a vegetarian when that is not your intention

We are in the third week of our weight loss series and our video this week can help you lose up to 10kg before Christmas when added to a healthy eating plan. I’m going to be talking about some of the exercises in our workout video briefly. You should know that all our workout videos are mainly body weight exercises that require no equipment. This means you can do them from the comfort of your living room or anywhere that is not a gym.

These exercises focus on the upper body, midsection and lower body and will require only your own bodyweight and 15-20 minutes of your time. To make this exercise routine very effective, try to maintain a maximum of 30-60 seconds break between each set and do 3-5 sets per session.

Exercise Routine For Weight loss
1.Jump Squats: This exercise will get your heart pumping and increase your metabolism. It’s a good cardio variation of the squat exercises that will tone your posterior end, thighs and legs. It will also reduce your waistline after a while. This exercise works perfectly for me. For weight loss, it is advisable to do 20-30 reps per set for a total of 3-5 sets per session, depending on your endurance level.

2. Knee high squat variation: This is another cardio version of the squat. While it increases your metabolism and helps you burn fat it will tone your glute muscles, thighs and legs. It also helps fight cellulite. It is advisable to do 20-30 reps per set

3. Triangle pushup: This works on your chest and arms. It also helps to get rid of flabby arms.

4.Side plank hold: This variation of the plank exercise is effective for flattening the belly, it will also strengthen also core . It’s also a great exercise for building your abs and 6packs. Do 30- 60 seconds per set.
