Do you know that the NNPC mega station and other filling stations are built on water in Bayelsa state? If canoe was the means of transport there then why would they build such stations there?

True story. I saw a picture of the nnpc megastation on water before. Like a jetty. I was wondering why they wld build it on water and someone said its for speedboats.

If white people were living in this country, bayelsa would have been one of the most beautiful states in Nigeria. They would have taken advantage of its riverine nature and built water taxis, stations, and so many boating activities around d area. It would have probably bn looking like cannes in france or they could have even put up residential buildings on d water and made it look like venice in italy.

Apart from those mighty market boats which are like trucks (trailers and gwongworos), Speed boats are regulars on that route like normal commuter cross country buses and cars, while canoes are like bicycles used by farmers and fishermen to commute between their homes and their hustling posts.

Just yesterday on NatGeo I saw an Australian Minister of Transport and Communication driving alone in a snowy road. No convoy No escorts. He was a lone soldier.

My question is, before he became a senator he had money, didn't he? What stopped this show-business man from purchasing boats to aid his people in daily transportation? His wealth before.politics could have made life easy for his people, but he didn't do anything. Now that he has been elected to represent their interest, he pretend he wants to "go through what his people go through on a daily basis". Politicians are indeed magicians!

I don't think he has any choice than to claim akassa as his hometown. It is well documented that is father's mother (Bruce Grandmother) is from Akassa while the paternal side is scottish or so. He is NIgerian and the way Southern Nigeria works, he has to trace his roots to contest. The only option is to branch to Yaba where is father was fairly popular and lived but like I said, it is the way Nigeria works. However, I do not know whether is father or he himself did anything for akassa.

The truth is that, Bruce grand mother is from Akassa, his mother married a scottish slave trader.
