Always endeavour to open your windows for few minutes before switching on your AC, please do NOT turn on A/C as soon as you enter
the car. Open the windows after you enter your
car and turn ON the AC after a couple of
minutes.
Here's why:
According to research, the car dashboard, sofa
and air freshener emit Benzene, a cancer-
causing toxin (carcinogen) .

Take time to observe the smell of heated plastic
in your car. In addition to causing cancer,
Benzene poisons your bones, causes anaemia
and reduces white blood cells.
Prolonged exposure will cause leukaemia,
increasing the risk of cancer. It can also cause
miscarriage. Acceptable Benzene level indoors is
50 mg per sq ft.

A car parked indoors with windows closed will
contain 400-800 mg of benzene. If parked
outdoors under the sun at a temperature above
60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up to
2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.
People who get into the car keeping windows
closed will inevitably inhale, in quick succession,
excessive amounts of the toxin.

Benzene is a toxin that affects your kidney and
liver. What's worse, it is extremely difficult for
your body to expel this toxic stuff.
So friends, please open the windows and door of your car - give time for the interior air to dispel the deadly stuff - before you enter.

Sometimes, what we don't know doesn't kill us.. . It's what we know that kills us... People have been driving cars with AC for long and nobody died from benzene inhalation... Some people don't even wind down their Windows unless they want to buy something in traffic yet they are still alive...

Don't briing previous beef to this thread naaa, he has got some point here.

should incase u didn't get, what he meant was that you packing your car in the open space with your glass wound up for over 6hrs, exposing to heat from the sun. there are some resultant effect from the dashboard and whatever air-freshner used, that benzene (abi na benzema) poses a health risk.
Good one, Mr chucky234

How many times will this benzene myth be busted?

This same story has been circulating on the net for god knows how long

I dont roll down my windows cos of benzene tho..i only do it to reduce the heat

On second thought, those that still drink water from taps connected to pipes made wit lead, sleep under ceiling made from asbestos shldnt even bother about benzene at all
