Is that a good enough reason to destroy government and other people's property? If they can't pay why incur more cost? because when they resume they will pay for the damages done to property.
I never support ow dey destroy properties but let's try n prevent trouble. Get me ryt bro. Had it been d fee s nt increased , dis will nt happen.

My point is even if the fee is increased by 100%, this shouldn't happen. We are supposed to be civilised.

Students never learn.

If they destroy any of the school properties, they are the ones that will still pay for it one way or the other.

There are better ways to protest than destroy school properties.

that's not a justification to destroy properties. I pity the students because the so called N10,000 increase will be used to settle those that their properties were destroyed. A reasonable student can demonstrate via different means .thank God for the social media ,it's a great weapon to be used. whether they like or not, they will pay for the damages they caused.

what he meet by civilized is that peaceful demonstration although to be carried out not violence. The students will still bear the burden especially for the damage and probably some might be expelled from the school.
Thank God for the media, it can be used to pour their grievance. They can decide not to even resume pending when the school revert to the old fee. Ambrose Ali University Ekpoma students were notorious for violence and inspite of it, governor Adams Oshiomole still went to increased their fees. some persons protested but I didn't hear of some violence because the students know the implications.

Popularly known as kwara poultry have started again, why would there be problem when they are admitting more than their capacities because the state govt is not longer responsible for the welfare of the school, so the school management needs to hike the fees. I feel their pains

So I happened to be in ilorin for some reasons and decided to visit a nearby restaurant for breakfast. Was halted by a mob of Kwara State Polythecnic Students who were protesting over a 10k increase in their school fees.
They vandalized properties, made a number of bon fires and chanted war songs.
I understand that a detachment of police were earlier at the scene and fired tear gas however the students weren't deterred by the tear gas. Right now there is no police presence here, perhaps they have gone back to regroup and reinforce.
I'm at the mini campus (IOT) end though I hear same thing is going on at the main campus (Elekoyangan). Anyone there to update us?
PS: These shots are as close as I could get, na God save my Xperia and my head oo, right before my eyes, a guy was mobbed for taking (or attempting to take) pictures and his phone was destroyed. These guys gat no chill.

Updated : The police is back, firing tear gas, I don't need to be told, am out. We usually know how this ends, at night the police would invade marked houses of students in the area and make random arrests. May God help us.

U just get photocredit... Yunususmanlade na my course mate

Absolute spot on.. Cultists always take over protest like this to unleash their evil act. Same thing happened in 2013 when a student was shot in the leg by a policeman.
