Celebs who really don’t deserve their fame – In modern show business, few celebrities truly deserve star status. It’s makes you realize how much of a sick, backwards world it is when a celebrity makes hundreds of times the money of a doctor or soldier, just for having their lives broadcast on television.

Some people will do just about anything to get their 15 minutes of fame. Reality television, competition panel shows and downright idiotic behavior drives fame-seekers to all-time lows. Nowadays it seems like people not only crave fame and fortune, but believe they are entitled to it, even if they’re not willing to put in the hard work.

Whether they like it or not, celebrities take on the responsibility of role models. Children grow up exposed to ludicrous behavior, that’s inevitable, but they should not grow up seeing that type of behavior rewarded. It seems like many celebrities live by the mantra “there’s no such thing as bad press,” purely because they don’t have the talent to justify their fame and riches. Well, there is such a thing as bad press. If certain so-called celebrities would place their own sense of self-righteousness aside for just one second, and look at the damage their actions cause to society, they would understand that!

10. Justin Bieber



He’s the former child prodigy who has legions of adoring fans, broken chart records and amassed a fortune of $200 million. Yes, he can sing, dance and play a few instruments, but he’s just a musician! Besides, anyone who is as rude to fans as he is, drives under the influence, cracks racist jokes and orders his bodyguards to assault paparazzi (as annoying as they must be), does not deserve respect or riches. If Justin Bieber‘s music was truly groundbreaking and monumental, perhaps his fame would be more understandable, but there’s absolutely nothing special about his voice or songwriting. I guess some things will always remain a mystery.

9. Kanye West



When you live a life in the spotlight, with fans begging for your autograph and fainting in your presence, it’s bound to get to your head. But, Kanye West’s ego is on a whole other level. He’s the self-proclaimed “voice of a generation,” appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone wearing a crown of thorns, he’s a notorious stage crasher when he looses awards, and the list goes on and on. Kayne West is worth $147 million, which he has amassed through record sales, endorsement deals, live performances, fashion designing and business. Having said that, apart from his music, none of his other ventures are particularly noteworthy. He even recently penned a book – which was universally slated as “childlike” rubbish – just after proclaiming that he’s a “proud non-reader.”

8. Farrah Abraham



Over 750,000 American teen girls will get pregnant each year, so why on earth does Farrah Abraham get special treatment? After appearing in the MTV series Teen Mom, and starring in a number of “leaked” adult videos, she has amassed a net worth of over $325 thousand. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with adult films, modelling or implantation, but what has she really contributed to society? After leaving Teen Mom, she had one last attempt to clutch on to her fame, so in true B-list fashion, she released a studio album, which The Guardianlabelled as “the weirdest record you’ve heard all year,” and released a book, both of which were titled My Teenage Dream Ended.

7. Paris Hilton



She’s a professional socialite and occasional actress, model, DJ, author and singer. Anyone who’s ever seen her creative work will know full well that talent didn’t break her into show business. Regardless of what it says on paper, Paris Hilton made a name for herself as nothing more than the party going heiress to the mighty Hilton Hotel chain, which was established by her great grandfather, Conrad Hilton. Through reality television, celebrity appearances, gossip and a well-known night vision video, she has managed to make her own $100 million fortune. In some respects you’ve got to give her credit, she’s managed to create a business out of scandal and drama, which can’t be easy.
