I tell you. There was this 13 year old pupil of the school who happened to have 1 month internship with us then, I just open my mouth in astonishment whenever I watch her do certain stuff.

How many times have you see kids from all this super rich high school represent Nigeria in any international competition or won any National competition in Nigeria.

Most High that represent Nigeria in any international competition or won National competitions are schools with low school fees.

Is good to spend on child's education but excessive spending is bad.

Poor man mentality and poor thinking. When you make it in life, you'd see its not a waste. Let me tell you something you don't know, sending your kids to such school is not confined to education alone, building networks here and there that will benefit you and your child later in life is certain. In an elite schools like this, you are sure to meet people, connections. Even your child will be well connected before he graduates. You as a parent too would be. These are connections that would definitely come in handy later in life. These are people that would help you now or later in life.

Mind you, most of them don't write any waec of a nonsense. They use British curriculum so what they write is UK GSCE and Cambridge O and A levels after which 95% of them jet out abroad to continue their education. What I found out is that their parents would have even preferred them running their secondary school education in Europe and america but due to the fact that they aren't ripe enough age wise and there'll be probably no one to monitor them very well, its better they enroll in similar schools in Nigeria with similar standards.

My boss in my firm happened to bring his kid to office one day. This girl attends British international school at lekki. She was just 12 yes of age. When this girl spoke, I had to listen to her attentively. She did amazing things with my laptop I never even knew about. This girl was bright and good. Na wetin we dey call pikin be that. Kids of these schools are very exposed, exposure that will definitely come in handy later in life.

A lot of comments here have really got me laughing. It is true that there is a correlation today between the school fees and the quality of education but there is what I call an optimal fees. The relationship is like a straight line graph with a positive slope indicating that the more money, more educational value added but the somewhere that line flattens out indicating that irrespective of the amount of money added there is no corresponding educational value added rather what Iis added is shear luxury. Sorry to say most of these schools fall into these categories.

Most of these schools heads are entitled to holidays abroad twice a year with their families, who do you think sponsors that? The students themselves from time to time are taken for excursions abroad, who pays for that? Most of these schools need to hire police security vans with hilux vans to escort these kids school buses to and fro from school, someone has to pay. Even in common sports competitions, they take these kids to play with the likes of man utd and Chelsea fc junior teams, I am not joking here, someone has to pay. So my brothers and sisters if you look at some of these things, they are just shear luxury and have little impact on the students ability to perform.

Now let me give you my experience with one of the students in one of the schools listed. The secondary school boy was sent by his school to come do what they call industrial attachment (IT) in our company-of course the boys father and my boss are friends so it was an easy ride and he was sent to me for mentoring, so I first decided to have a chat with the boy to know where to start. To my chargrin, I discovered the boy didn'tt know who Nnamdi Azikiwe, Awolowo, Belewa are!!!!! I decided to find out why by asking him whether they offered history, he said yes but they do like the history of cuba, dominican republic, world war 2 etc and I asked him don't you do nigerian history? He said No! ......brothers and sisters we have a big problem on our hands, to be continued. ......

Stop telling cheap lies.

Students of these elite schools are highly exposed and intelligent. When we talk of exposure, I dont mean street ruggedity and badman. When I talk of exposure you know wat I mean. Education is beyond the 4 walls of any given institution. Its about building lifelong legacies from scratch. One of these elite schools happen to send their students on a 2 weeks excursion to silicon valley around 2013. Please tell me how tat wouldn't be a stepping stone to life success. There in silicon valley, you'd be able to meet people from all works of life, have one or 2 chats, exchange numbers etc. My brother na wetin we dey call connections be this. Na from here e dey start. I honestly used to have your kind of mentality calling schools like these a waste of money and stuffs but having met with different kids from different A league schools my mindset changed.
