WHY WE HATE OUR COLOUR AS GOD MADE AND BEAUTIFIED IT?
WHY IS IT COMMON IN NIGERIA?
OUR COLOUR BLACK OR BROWN IS BOLD, BEAUTIFUL AND APPRECIATED BY PPL BUT WHY DON'T WE UNDERSTAND AND SEE THE BOLDNESS INSTEAD OF BLEACHING.

THOSE PEOPLE BLEACHING DO THEY REALLY KNOW THE IMPLICATION. PLEASE DOCTORS IN THE HOUSE TELL PEOPLE THE IMPLICATIONS OF SKIN BLEACHING.

Skin bleaching/lightening/toning creams, are used to lighten , or improve their complexion. What these women do not realise is that nearly most of those products contain a chemical called "Hydroquinone", and these same women do not realise that the chemicals are slowly burning away the top layer of their skin, and stripping the skin of melanin, which is the pigment, naturally produced by the skin that gives us our brown skin tones and also protects the skin from UV light (sun), preventing cancer.

Sometimes I see women on the street prancing around with light but pinkish skin tones (which honestly makes them look sore and not light), sometimes the skin would have dark spots, caused by previous scarring e.g spots, or sometimes their hands would be darker than their faces, and their knuckles would be dark due to constant washing of hands, which doesn't allow the bleach to take effect on the hands..................don't these women realise that it is DISGUSTING?!?!

Honestly speaking, it's not only black women that do it, Asian women and men do it too. I think it's shameful that one wouldn't be happy with their skin, My mum is igbo, but her skin is white, quite white that she uses foundations for white people (and no she's not albino!), and she has green eyes, but I'm dark brown because of my dad, but my same mum has a very dark sister, and I admire her skin because she maintains it and as dark as she is it glows. your skin doesn't have to be bleached for it to be noticed (because franktly people will only notice you for how sore you look!)..................oh and another thing, excessive bleaching will eventually cause the skin to go darker than your original skin tone was, as time goes by, because the melanin was disturbed due to bleaching, it will come back darker as it's trying to adapt to the colour that the skin once was (a little like scarring). Black women should wake up and be happy with the tones God has blessed us with, taking care of rather than bleaching, brings out the beauty of the skin more!!.  smiley
