ENUGU—The former Secretary of the Enugu State Committee on Adada State Movement, Mr Ejiofor Ozongwu, was Wednesday killed at Okwojo Ngwo, following a land dispute.
Ozongwu, a lawyer, who was in his late 50s, was reportedly killed over a disputed piece of land in his village, Ngwo, near Enugu at about 2pm.
A version of the story had it that the late lawyer had gone to inspect the disputed land when he sighted his opponents in the dispute and fired some gun shots to scare them away.
Ozongwu was said to have in the course of scaring them, wounded the President- General of the town’s union, whose supporters then pursued him and killed him.
Another version was that a group of youths in the area sighted him while inspecting the land and pursued him and killed him before over running his corpse with a vehicle to make sure that he would not be revived.
Some members of the homicide detectives that arrived the scene around 5pm were said to have taken the corpse of the killed lawyer to an unknown hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Ebere Amaraizu could not be reached for comments on the story, but reports from Okwojo Ngwo said that the whole area had been deserted over fear of possible arrest by the police for questioning.

he was just an activist protecting his villagers from the development union from land grabbing.
He never shot no one
the funny thing is that the person that alleged he shot him and the person that ran over him with his car are both his first cousin.
but the grace of God made a brand new car which they ran over him knack engine at the spot after running over him.
