Should the igbos who have invested so much in the landed property business in lagos start selling their property.

I have fears about the Lagos economy and the safety of the wealth of igbos in lagos.
This is because the price of the landed property business is very high now which is actually the best time to sell.
With the decline of the oil industry and it's expected effect on the economy of nigeria and lagos, lagos whose igr is driven by income taxes of which the bulk comes from the oil companies headquatered in lagos would witness reduced igr

The lagos government being a rental driven government would certainly embark on property tax, which would have a great impact on property owners in lagos .
Secondly as the oil driven economy goes down, banks that depended on oil companies would find it tough, leading to tightening of belt which can affect staff welfare which would hit on the igr of lagos.
Thirdly the bureau de Change operators, air travel business, air line business etc are already in tough times because of economic downturn.

Please discuss further, this is not another biafra thread

I think the OP has a point. Easterners can start selling properties outside the east but they should sell ONLY TO HAUSAS and FULANIS. Don't ask me why.

There was this chilling intel report from one intel agency back then in 2013 Green House something or so that blew a sounding whistle before the lagos rainy season floodings. That by 2050 lagos will go extinct hence the continous upsurge of the Atlantic ocean.,,,, since that report tinubu and lagos govt then fought tooth and nail to make sure they take of that report from the surface of the Internet.
We both saw the manifestations of that report this year with huge floodings in some largely part of lagos when the rainy season kick started.
I pity lagos landed property owners and intending buyers cos the marginal product of lagos factor is gradually slopping down. Even some big companies knows this,, hence they are gradually moving to nearby states/provinces.

Nonsensical thrash.

What happened to the much-touted Y2K bug?

Companies aren't moving out of Lagos, they are only moving manufacturing subsidiaries and factories to places with more land and cheaper labor.

Better get proper education.

I know why. It is because they were kind enough to use your mothers and sisters as sex slaves between 1967 and 1970 while Yorubas were asking them to pronounce "toro" (i.e. half kobo) before giving them water.

It is not only igbos that owns properties in Lagos. Why should anyone need to sell off now, if they didn't sell it in 1993 when there was mass migration out of Lagos because of the June 12 tension. My family happens to be one of the early sets of igbos to settle down in Ojota when it was still regarded as a village way back in the 70's and a plot of land sold for N1,200. No matter the possible situation in Lagos, there is no cause for selling one's property unless one has chosen to relocate.
