NYSC alloweee 19k ×12 months = 237600k
state allowed 10k × 11 months =110000k

private school where I was teaching physics and further maths in ph town (woji) paid me 25k for 10months = 250000k

jamb and GCE lesson in the same private school paid me 500 daily. that's 2500 per week. for 6months = 60000k

Total= 657600k....

I saved about 400k during my service year because I was still getting other little stipends from time to time.
after service I moved to Lagos and started a DJ business with the cash.. and that kept me going for 6months till I got job in a telecoms company..

Nysc was really a blessing to me

modified: pls note that I was posted to a public school but I was able to reach an agreement with the principal of the public school so he could allow me work some place else .and still be able to collect my state allowee.

so I was only attending CDS in the LGA.

Not much in terms of cash.

But if you include girls, I was a millionaire

I saved #200k, though I served in a private institute where I was paid 12k monthly asides free lunch everyday.

From Borno back to Oyo, went home with 20k only. NYSC is not an avenue to make money but to serve ur father land. Only few, I mean veru few people have reasonable savings although Fed allowee was only 9k then.

Served in Ijumu Kogi State. I refused to go to Borno. Saved like 120k but don't be dismayed I was teaching in two other schools.

I learned the nysc members whom are deployed as inec adhoc staff to polling units does runs with politicians during election.I also learned they are well bribed during the election.

word of advice, if u want to save during ur Nysc service year, pls dnt serve in these following states

Lagos
Abuja
Rivers state
Calabar

calabar? Nothern and central cross river are ok. living standard quite affordable.

Mine was very interesting!

At first I was a little scared because of uncertainties surrounding NYSC PPA posting.

But thank God, the service year ended with so much money in my account, great working and community service experiences. I'm now gainfully employed.

I saved 180k (to include election allowance + PVC distribution and registration ) I didn't touch my state alawi for that 11month(minus 1month in camp)

I tried mai best, despite i participated in d recent election...............almost 150#, buh all went down d drain and i cant account for it.......buh i thank for gift of life.

No matter where u serve u can't go bck with 100k. Except u are extremely stingy.

Saved 200K, 10 months federal allawee.
What made it easy was 4K monthly state allawee + 10K monthly private lesson+ C.L.O + President C.D.S (tokens) and majorly my mum's help.

I did my NYSC in rivers in 2007. I saved all my state allowance (110k) plus some money saved from school where I did secondary assignment and some private lesson. I was able to save almost 200k. I used the money to rent an office where i started a business I still manage till date. Though saving such amount wasn't easy but I had to discipline my self and work hard which still help me in business till date

Sorry to burst your bubbles, you can't save anything tangible except you are a miser who plans on starving himself or herself to death.

It's easier if you stayed in the villages and in their corpers lodge

I saved 75k. Was owed 5months arrears after relocating from Kaduna to Cross river. so they paid it all once, thats 99k. Was able to go back home with N75,000.

I made about 300k during my service year. I was posted to a sec sch (BJSS Beletiema, Brass L.G.A, Bayelsa) that operates from 1pm to 6pm. So i decided to take a teaching job at a private sch. My period is scheduled from 8am to 11am, the pay is 10k. I also have an adult home lesson from 11:30am to 1:30pm, the pay is 6k. Then i'll proceed to my PPA and my period there is between 2pm to 4pm. Then i'll proceed to another home lesson from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, the pay was 6k. So i virtually earn 19.8k + 10k+6k+6k=41,800 monthly. It was not easy o, but God was my strength.

I served in a govt sec skul, in edo.. Uzebba grammar school to be precise, no stare allowance, the principal gave us 2k money, then federal alawee.. I was able to save 90k..i put up a PES 2..Edo boys stole it.. Then I came up with table tennis plan.. That helped me big time.. U can save if u have ideas

Most guys spends their money on women. That's why they have nothing to account for.
