. Didn't you watch the presidential media chat where the same issue was raised, so you have no point. I repeat there's no where in the world where the press is spoonfed with information at every turn.
Does that imply that in most turns...or even few, the press can be spoon fed with information? Maybe you should enlighten me on the presidential media chat and my response having no point.

. You have no idea of the FOI bill that you are shouting about. Do you think journalists were allowed to cover FEC meetings during your hero's tenure. What they show to you on TV are pre-meeting formalities. Once the council start deliberations the press is excused.
So the parents are public officers or. Security agents??

. So you want the press to cover private meetings of the President? That's why you have press briefings and press conferences. When the delegation leave the state house then if they like they can interview everyone on the entourage. That's the way it's done everywhere in the world. They are pressmen not pokenosers.
The government should never conduct any affair in secret unless it is something of detriment to the average citizen. Hiding everything under the clout of secrecy is the reason government officials have been looting without fear and a major reason we cannot fully ascertain which side is winning the war on terror.
These people are called 'public servants' for a reason; anything they do should remain open to the public so we can scrutinize and know if tax payer money is utilized properly or spent on waste.

Parents of the abducted Chibok girls and members of the Bringbackourgirls movement on Thursday refused to leave when they were told that President Muhammadu Buhari would not meet with them. The protesters insisted on seeing the president, who had promised, on July 8, to rescue the abducted schoolgirls.

The president, whom Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, said was at a meeting at the time the protesters arrived at the villa, sent Aisha Alhassan, minister of women affairs, as his representative to them. But Alhassan took shots at the Chibok parents and the BBOG for not giving the government prior notice of their coming.

In response, Oby Ezekwesili, former minister of education and leader of the BBOG, accused the minister of not being fair. “You have been very unfair to us,” she said. “I don’t understand why you can be chiding the parents and the movement. These parents were triggered by the words of the president who promised to rescue their daughters.” BBOG members and parents of the girls waiting for Buhari at the banquet hall of the presidential villa While she was still speaking, Shehu interrupted her to announce that the president would now meet the protesters.

Mohammed Monguno, national security adviser; Mohammed Dan Ali, minister of defence, and Gabriel Olonishakin, chief of defence staff were in the government delegation that received the group.

When the president eventually arrived, he ordered journalists out of the meeting. Shehu, who voiced the order, said the reason was because some “sensitive issues” were to be discussed. A galaxy of journalists who had turned up for the meeting thronged out of the banquet hall, venue of the meeting, in quick steps.

Kudos to Buhari...............They don't discuss security issues on social media. America didnt announce whereabout of Osama Bin Laden until he was killed.

When will Nigerians especially those from SE know that security issues are not supposed to be discussed in public. This politics of pain and hate wont favor you guys.

You want the president to meet with them in the presence of journalists? Are you guys for real?

The press would be briefed on the decisions reached after the meeting is concluded. Sensitive security issues cannot be discussed with media cameras everywhere.

Beside, we should give kudos to the president for meeting with the BBOG activists for the second time in his administration. When this same group attempted to meet GEJ, they were tear gassed by AIG Mbu and his men.

Buhari can do no wrong. Even if wrong it is right.

Please tell me the security thing they want to discuss with village women who 'their children were kidnapped'? Just a vague idea of what it might possibly be no matter how ridiculous it might sound?

Meanwhile hope you heard he stormed out of the meeting in anger?

What makes you think the parents of BBOGS won't divulge any information to members of the press afterwards...So the said meeting is good as open to the media.
