It's to be expected. Globally, the oil industry is cutting back investments of over $200B over the next few years and this will be felt in the size of the workforce.

This will continue until the price of oil experiences some sort of resurgence however, what isn't in doubt is that the oil industry will never be the same again.

The Coal Industry was once tight...

That is the problem of working as an employee. As long the business is not your own, one day they will show you the way out. The employers keep their staff not because they love them. Immediately they realise they have sucked the milk out of you, they throw you out.

Stewpid man, instead to budget enough money to diversify economy, he went to budget money to find oil in the desert.
Must it be oil all the time, what happened to agriculture, mining, manufacturing and other sector.

which means more jobless youth to pay 5k grin grin... But on a serious note i think its time the leadership of our great country Nigeria stop saying they will diversify the economy and really start diversifying the economy, in fact they should treat it like they are already behind schedule. With the amount of people already sacked and more to be sacked, i think the Government will have a hard time fixing the country or taking us to the promise land if they keep talking and not doing..

Guys should relax!

As the price of Oil goes lower, all we need is to revitalise our petrol-chemical industries so we can produce "distillates".

With our population and the purchase price of these distillates, l bet we would not even know the price of crude has fallen.

We will consume our crude (through our petro-chemical industries and refineries), we will avoid Subsidy, we would increase employment, make income and avoid the vagaries of Crude price variations
