2006 Range Rover Sport comes in with a "Transmission fault; Traction reduced". A scan is run and we have "incorrect gear ratio" as the fault code.... Oil is drained and is black as can be.... it has never been changed before! Filter is also found to be torn, how is that possible??

Any additional advice based on experience? Land Rover Discovery II doesn't move fast especially when the road is a bit hilly. A bad idea to overtake because it goes at its own pace despite firing it to move to successfully overtake. I'd once took it for a computer check and the only fault it comes up with "faulty knock sensor", was advised that it should be replaced. Secondly, is it a general bad idea to high race (engine) a LR II? On two different occasions (racing the engine while motionless) it got the radiator fan broken . Thanks |

thwy31: When you say it doesn't move fast... does it mean (you experience high revs but no corresponding motion) or (you experience a engine drag)? Radiator fan breaking at idle means it's wobbly or has an obstruction in its path! For the discovery II, your experience wouldn't be unconnected to the "air flow meter" |

Start engine, engage Park Brake.... Shift gear lever to Neutral, shift transmission range to Low range, select Mud Rut crawl, from terrain response system (HDC automatically becomes active), shift gear to reverse, disengage hand brakes, apply pressure evenly octtggggg 1 Share

I mentioned above how tire size affects suspensions and to some extent people have been understandably reasonable to hear us out.... 1. Old rim with tire size 275/40 R20 (client chose to change rim, esthetics) 2. Old Rim 20" (for sale, original made in Italy factory fitted rims) 1 Share
