The spokesperson of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Olisa Metuh has been handcuffed for the third time at court one of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) high court, Abuja.The handcuffs were removed before Olisa Metuh entered the court.

Metuh granted bail for tearing statement. He arrived at the court at 10:45am handcuffed and accompanied by officers of the Nigeria Prison Service, but the iron restraint was removed just before he entered the court room.

The anti-graft agency had on January 21, Thursday arraigned him before Ishaq Bello of the FCT high court for charges bordering on destruction of evidence.The PDP’s spokesperson is also facing a seven-count charge of money laundering to the tune of N400m at the federal high court, Abuja.

Metuh is among those facing criminal charges for supposed complicity in the $2.1bn arms procurement scandal.

The politician has pleaded not guilty to the charge of money laundering, and has supposed that the government is trying to break him for his critical stance on the President Muhammadu Buhari government.
