My layers hav been layin very small eggs despite all d multivitamins n dewormin hav done.My Vert doctor afvised me to change slowly from Top feed to use Vital max and Ammo mixed togeda.Pls Nairalanders wat d best feed available in Nigeria tody?

Malnutrition...or sickness(Bacterial infection)...put tetracycline in thr water....Emmm person dey insert fingaz for thr nyash?It can cuz it

Nutrient inbalance or sickness. Make sure they feed highly rich proteinous food, clean water and calcium in form of bone meal. Also, make sure there is enough ventilation and space.

When do they start laying? and for how long have they been laying?

If it is worm, it should be drop in egg production......... Many things can cause small sized eggs
1. Feeding...... 200 pullets should eat 25kg, was d crude protein of d feed? How gud are ur raw materials and wen do you normally feed dem? How was dia feeding like B4 dey started Laying
2. Genetics..... May be inherited from dia parents
3. Sickness..... It can cause both drop in egg production and small sized eggs
4. Age and size. Older birds tend to lay bigger eggs. At what weight and age did they start laying? If dey lay earlier dey will produce smaller eggs
5. Lighting system ...... Light will affect d weight of birds and d weight will affect egg size
6. Stress like debeaking and vaccination can

The lighting, is it more light small eggs or more light big eggs.... can you please explain more?
