Gov Emmanuel seeks strong tie between Akwa Ibom, Abia states to develop infrastructure.
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has called for stronger closer ties between Akwa Ibom and Abia states in the development of infrastructure stating that the two States have a long history of relationship in trade, marriage and cultural affinity.
Governor Emmanuel made the call at the funeral Service of the mother of Abia State Governor, Late Deaconess Bessie N Ikpeazu at Umuobiakwa, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The State Governor who was accompanied by Secretary to the State Government, Sir Ettekamba Umoren, and some members of the state Executive Council ,looked for greater collaboration and enduring peace between the neighbouring States stressing that and that implementation of issues of common interest would aid in the industrialisation policy of the present administration.
While speaking of the late Madam Bessie as a beloved mother who injected her professional calling as a registered nurse to save lives, care for the family and the community, Governor Emmanuel called on the deceased family to be encouraged by the fact that their mother while alive, contributed to the well-being of the society and urged the family to be consoled by the legacies of Service and love for humanity which she has bequeathed them.
Also, the Deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu said the respective states of the Nigerian nation have a task of galvanizing resources for development especially in the area of road construction, agriculture and Industries to salvage the country from the prevailing economic recession.
He commiserated with the Ikpeazu's family on the demise of their mother, saying this moment of grief has brought people of diverse political interest together and sued for unity between the various States Of the federation.

An average yoruba thinks that Abia state is far away from their imaginary SS; not knowing that Abia is a walking distance to Rivers and Akwa Ibom. Many of them don't even know that Abiriba people in Abia trace their origin to Akwa Ibom...Ibibio. Ask them what people are in the picture attached? They will tell you...SS.lol. These are Abiriba Igbo people oh. Yoruba...keep wasting your time and energy dividing us

- I have told Tonyebarcanista that his ijaw tailored Igbophobia will FAIL in south south.
Akwa Ibom/Calabar tribes have No Problem with IGBOS.. They have lived, traded, intermarried for years.
Delta people including my delta north do NOT want ur Igbophobia.
Keep it in ur ijaw land.

Great news and hopefully one of many mutually beneficial partnerships between neighbouring states. I just hope that Abia allows Akwa Ibom to take the lead in this since they already have a recent history of providing and maintaining world standard infrastructure. There is noooo room for foolish pride in this. Abia needs to follow Akwa Iboms lead and example.

I'm very happy about this news.

It is funny that the attire being flaunted by the so-called Ijaw in today's Nigeria as their traditional hallmark actually originated from Arochukwu.

What could have brought about the Yorubas into this thread if not the brainlessness of an Igbotic Ipob.

If the South East states and South south states can close ranks and cooperate on certain economic projects then there would be zero reliance on oil.

Key among infrastructure should be a deep sea port, an international airport hub, key health institutions, key world class educational and research institutions.

History will never forgive people like Amaechi and oshiomole.

This is a great development. I have always maintained that we Igbos should continue to build a very strong bond with our Efik/Ibibio brothers. We should have nothing to do with ijaws and thier likes.
